Every mother should know what kind of pulse the child has - the norm

For every mother there is nothing more important than the health of her own child. Especially disturbing are the first months of life, when the baby can not say that it hurts. Therefore, many young mothers pay attention to every detail, for example, listen to how a baby breathes, or consider the pulse of a child. The norm of palpitation in children, of course, differs from this indicator for an adult, so there is no need to sound an alarm only if it is somewhat rapid.

For each age, the normal intensity of the pulse is characteristic. The more a child becomes, the lower his heart rate. This is due to the increase in blood volume in the body. What is the frequency of the pulse in children - the norm? For a baby who has just been born, the normal number of strokes ranged from 140 to 160. In a one-year-old baby, this figure will already drop significantly and will range from 120 to 125 beats. In the next year of life, i.е. From one year to two, the pulse of a child is normal, if it is in the range of 110 to 115 beats. At the age of two or three years, the optimal number of beats per minute is from 105 to 110. When the baby is three years old, but not yet seven years old, the normal heart rate is 90 to 100 strokes. At the age of eight to twelve years, the pulse of a child is normal, if its value is from 75 to 80. After twelve years, the normal palpitation in a teenager should be the same as in an adult - from 70 to 75 beats per minute.

Calculation of the pulse in children is the same as in adults. It is necessary to find the most palpable vein so that the beats can clearly be felt. As a rule, just put your hand on it to count their number. But if there are doubts, it is better to arm with a stethoscope, so that the counting was accurate, for my mother's peace of mind. When the location of the listening blows is selected, you need to take a normal clock and, after measuring the minute, start counting. When the time runs out, the count must be stopped. That figure on which it was completed, and will be the number of beats per minute.

If the child's pulse is the norm, it will lie in the appropriate age range described above. If it is different from normal, do not immediately sound an alarm, because This indicator can be affected by excitement, sleep, fear, tearful state and much more, so you need to try to re-measure it when the child is completely calm to get a reliable result.

Of course, if the pulse of a child is normal, there should be no alarm. If its indicator is lower or higher, it is necessary to inform the pediatrician about it, and not to take independent actions to change its value. The frequency of heartbeat can be influenced by various factors that are not visible to the layman. Also, there are acceptable values of the deviation of the heartbeat from the norm, related to the growth, weight, activity of the baby. Do not think that mom understands her baby better than anyone else. In most cases this is just a wish, not a valid one. Also, due to anxiety and excitement, the mother may simply not notice the obvious to the doctor. If there is any doubt about the health of the child, it is always worthwhile to immediately contact a specialist, and not ring up acquaintances and engage in self-medication.
