Enthusiast is ... Who are enthusiasts?

Henry Ford said: "If you have enthusiasm, you can do anything." Let's figure out who is such an enthusiast, and whether he really has such great power.

Who are enthusiasts?

An enthusiast is who? A person who has inherent inspiration, a desire for active action, inspiration, can safely call himself that. In ancient times it was believed that an enthusiast is someone who is possessed by a deity, and in the days of antiquity enthusiasm was called poetic inspiration.

Now we call enthusiasts of people focused, active, initiative, involved in any process. This property of personality can manifest itself in a certain sphere of human occupation: art, work, sport.

What other words can be called an enthusiast? Synonym is difficult to find. The expressions closest in meaning: a fan, an adorer, a passionate admirer, an admirer.

Enthusiasm as a mental state of an individual is a temporary phenomenon, it can appear, it can suddenly disappear, it all depends on the person's attitude to what he does. Sometimes it happens, you start some work with enthusiasm, the work goes quickly and easily, but unexpectedly the interest disappears, and you have to force yourself to finish what you started.

However, we can consider the term "enthusiasm" in a more global sense. An enthusiast is a person with an interest in achieving global goals. From morning till night such people are true to their dreams, each of their actions is aimed at at least a little closer to it. In such cases, they say: "Enthusiasm is inherent in man."

Why everyone needs enthusiasts

For any employer, an enthusiast is the best worker, because he works not for reward, but for result. The enthusiast works more productively. He is ready to stay after work, go out on a day off. Such people are primarily interested in the work itself and its result, and then already reward. A genuine interest in business helps enthusiasts to work, without feeling tired, for a long time. They are by no means unhappy workaholics, but, on the contrary, inspired people who get real pleasure from what they do.

Enthusiasm in the work is useful. For many it allows you to climb the career ladder and reach professional peaks. But there is a downside to the coin. Even if you are fond of performing your job duties, remember, any work should be rewarded. Sometimes the best motives of enthusiasts are used for someone's selfish ends.

How to learn to be enthusiastic

The first thing to use is a positive attitude in any business. If you do something without interest, as they say "from under the stick", then you are not fortunate enough to feel the ebb of enthusiasm. In this case, you need to either develop interest in the work that you are doing, or simply do what you like.

You can safely say that creative people are enthusiasts. Without true love for this or that kind of creativity it is impossible to create a masterpiece. Muse to artists, musicians, writers comes necessarily in a society of enthusiasm. Find a hobby, try to do something that brings pleasure more often, and you will notice that you are doing it with enthusiasm.

Often, enthusiasm wakes up with the team spirit. Collective work can be exciting and inspiring. No wonder members of team sports can be called enthusiasts. They are almost always in good spirits, they see their goal and act boldly. They say: "They play with enthusiasm."

The main advice

Enthusiasm is contagious, as is its absence. Look around, if you are surrounded by dull, ignorant people, rather change your environment, otherwise you risk getting stuck in this routine. And conversely, communicating with an active, purposeful person, it is easier for us to find a spark of enthusiasm within ourselves.

Great people say that the world belongs to enthusiasts. Do you belong to the number of its owners? If the answer is negative - change it urgently, become an enthusiast. You will like the result!
