Ecological problems of Russia

Despite a rather sharp decline in production and the adoption of a large number of protective measures, environmental problems in Russia, especially in industrial areas of the country, are kept at a critically high level. And they are often aggravated not only by the waste that has accumulated over decades and polluting the environment, but also by some weakening of state control. After all, in recent years, support for environmental activities by government bodies has been significantly reduced.

Undisputed leader, in whose territory many environmental problems of Russia are concentrated, is the Urals. In this region there is a huge number of enterprises of heavy, wood chemical industry, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, and machine building. And most of these industry monsters use outdated technologies in their production, causing irreparable harm to the environment.

Ecological problems of Russia begin with a global disaster - the strongest air pollution. Various harmful waste in places exceed the permissible norm by a factor of tens. Only stationary sources of industry provide 20% of the total air pollution. Only Reftinskaya GRES annually emits about 300,000 tons of various harmful impurities into the atmosphere. Russia's environmental problems are unnaturally high soil pollution, especially in the Urals region. Radiation pollution of the environment is also part of Russia's environmental problems.
