Dusseldorf Park in Moscow and its "highlights"

Dusseldorf Park (Moscow) is one of the youngest in the Russian capital. It was laid in 2006. Today the park is one of the best recreational facilities in the Marino area.

Dusseldorf Park on the map of Moscow

The object is located in the south-eastern part of the capital, in the Marino area. On the map of the city the park is bordered by Novomarinskaya and Belorechenskaya streets, as well as by Perervinsky boulevard. It is a small hill with an artificial pond of irregular shape.

This place is still difficult to call a full-fledged park, as the plantations in it are still quite young and do not give any shadow.

How can I get to Düsseldorf Park? To do this, get off at the metro station "Bratislava", then walk a few more blocks in the north-east direction. The park can also be reached by ground transport - by buses No. 81 or No. 853 (stopping the 9th microdistrict of the Maryinsky Park).

History of the park

Düsseldorf Park is, in fact, a symbol of friendship and close cooperation between Moscow and Dusseldorf, between Russia and Germany. As you know, these two European settlements have been sister cities since 1992.

Düsseldorf is a fairly large city with a population of about 600 thousand people, which is in the west of Germany. The first diplomatic ties between the city and Moscow were established in the late 60-ies of the twentieth century.

The green zone in Marino appeared in 2006, and in 2009 Düsseldorf Park got its modern name. Over this park experts (architects, designers, florists) from Germany worked. That is why it is very similar to the green zones of German cities.

The park was inaugurated in the spring of 2009. The ceremony was attended by Yuri Luzhkov, as well as Dirk Elbers (the mayor-burgomaster of the German city).

"Raisin" of the park

In Düsseldorf Park, in addition to the pond, avenues and green spaces, there is a cycle track. There is also a small zoo, where rabbits, goats and even an owl live.

One of the first trees in the park was an oak planted with the hands of Yuri Luzhkov and Dirk Elbers on April 18, 2009. It grows right in the center of the new recreational zone.

At the entrance to Düsseldorf Park there is a black plaque with an inscription in German. It says: "Dusseldorf is a sister city since 1992".

The pond in the park is interesting: if you look at it from a bird's eye view, it will look like a tadpole. But to the cartographers the shape of the reservoir will certainly remind the conventional topographical designation of the spring.

In the Moscow park is also installed one of the main symbols of Dusseldorf - the sculpture of a boy making a "wheel." It is completely covered with multi-colored candy wrappers from chewing gums and sweets.

Temple in Dusseldorf Park

The decision to build an Orthodox church on the territory of a young park was made in 2012. It is known that some residents of adjacent residential areas were against this initiative and insisted that the park remain an exclusively recreational area. However, at public hearings on this issue, all present residents of Marino spoke out for the erection of the church.

In April 2012, the first prayer service was held on the site of the future church. In the next two and a half years it was built: in January 2015, the interior decoration of the church walls was completed. It also established a temporary iconostasis.

The temple was named after the Holy Myrrhbearers Women. These are the women who gladly accepted Jesus Christ in their homes and homes. Later they followed the Savior to Calvary. It was the Myrrh-bearers who first discovered that the bodies of the crucified Christ were not in the grave, and announced his resurrection.
