Dubna (river): rafting, fishing, beaches. Dubna

Summer is a favorite time of the year for fishermen, when they can not only devote time to their passion, but also rest from the city's bustle, live in a tent, enjoy the surrounding beauty and return home full of energy and energy. If there is good fishing, then we can assume that the rest was a success. Fishing on the river Dubna allows you to spend quality time, doing your favorite thing.

The Dubna River

This river is one of the five largest reservoirs of the Moscow region, along with Klyazma, Moscow, Oka and Pakhra. Being the right tributary of the Volga, it forms with it a stunning beauty arrow, in which is located Ratmino - the former estate of the princes Vyazemsky. Located in close proximity to the confluence of two rivers Kalitnikovsky Bor, in which old age-old pine trees grow, beautiful beaches with clean sand, excellent fish places - all this causes travelers to stay here longer.

Dubna, although a narrow river (maximum distance of 60 m), is nevertheless known not only to fishermen and lovers of recreation near the water, but also to rafters on kayaks. Throughout the course of the current (167 km), its banks change, then narrow down to 10 m, then retreat when tributaries enter it. It twists and spills at once in two areas - Vladimirskaya and Moscow. The depth also varies: from 2 m at the junction of the regions and up to 4 m after the inflow of the tributary Sister.

Like many rivers in the Vladimir region, Dubna is navigable, or rather, part of it from the village of Berechok and to the mouth, which is 15 km. It originates in this area, but ends up 8 km from the Ivankovo dam, in the Moscow region, at the confluence of the Volga.

On this river are located: the city of Dubna, the village of Berezino, Brykov Mountains, Ratkovo, the village of Verbilki and other small settlements.

Tributaries of Dubna

The banks of the river constantly change their remoteness due to the presence of tributaries flowing into it. Every time one of them runs into Dubna, it becomes deeper and wider. Sometimes, at a distance of several kilometers, the indicators can vary. For example, at the intersection with the Yaroslavl Highway the width is only 10 m, and when the Sulat River flows into it, the distance between the banks increases to 20 m, so that after some distance, near the village of Verbilka, 30-40 m away.

If the Dubna River had no tributaries, it would most likely be shallow, not wide and uninteresting for fishermen. They feed it with their waters from the left bank:

  • The Cunja River, which is the longest in the Sergiev Posad district and the "concurrent" left tributary of Dubna.
  • Kubzha is a small river, it has only 14 km of length. On its shore there are such settlements as Karavaevka, Okoemovo, Sudnikovo and Filippovskoe.
  • The left tributary of Dubna - Velya - is well known to canoeists. Its meandering course and rapid current attracts both beginners and experienced athletes.
  • The sister is another route for kayakers. With a length of 138 km and a flow so rapid that sometimes water "boils up", it is a serious test for beginners.

From the right bank there are two rivers:

  • Sulat - has only 23 km of length, originates in peat bogs.
  • The Hotcha River is 55 km long, navigable 10 km from the mouth.

Thanks to their waters, Dubna (the river) is a place for excellent rest, fishing, kayak and hunting.

Dubna (city)

Situated on the Volga with natural borders in the form of the rivers Dubna and Sister, this old fortress in the 12th century was of great strategic importance. The city of Dubna, in which it was built, was once part of the Rostov-Suzdal principality, which at that time belonged to the son of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of Kiev, Vsevolod Pereyaslavsky. From the middle of the 13th century, the fortress moved from Tver to Moscow and back, until it became Ivan the Terrible's status as an oprichny land.

In the late 1950s, Dubna acquired its city title in the new history of the 20th century. To it was attached a small town of Ivankovo. Here a strategic center for nuclear research, based on the Joint Institute for Nuclear Physics, appeared.

Since the time of Yaroslav the Wise, there are no monuments of antiquity, therefore the most recent sights were the Church of Praise of the Mother of God, built in Vyazemsky's estate in 1827, and the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God erected in 1891 to save residents from cholera with the help of a saint Icons.

Today it is a small provincial town in which the leading scientists of nuclear physics live and work.

Fishing on Dubna

Perhaps there are more fish rivers than this, well-known to fishermen of all stripes, but the free parking space for them to find every year becomes more difficult. Dubna (the river) in this favorably differs, since the entire "civilized" holiday focused on the Ivankovsky reservoir, 8 km from the place where it flows into the Volga. At the disposal of fishermen and lovers of wild recreation cozy clean beaches surrounded by pine forests near the Ratmino estate.

In the river there is the same "assortment" of fish as in the Volga: catfish, bream, perch, roach, pike, dace, ide and chub. These places were famous for a good catch even at the time of Peter the Great, and 50-60 years ago Dubna (the river) was very stocked.

Because of the interference of people in its course and the straightening of the channel for draining the Belsky swamp located on the northern shore, the amount of fish has diminished. Nevertheless, from here rarely who leaves without a catch. The most fishy places are near the villages of Verbilka, Yudino and near the confluence of Sisters and Dubna, near the village of Starikovo.

No less popular here and ice fishing, since ice by the end of winter increases from 50 cm to 80 cm.

Rafting on the River Sestra

Some canoeists prefer Dubna to its largest tributary, the Sestra River. It is quite full, has several complex rolling, twisting and fast currents. Especially it is suitable for training skills for beginners.

If you go on kayaks from the place where the river flows into the lake Senezhskoe, then in the area where it flows out of it, there is a whole network of fishing ponds and Lake Bezdonne, located in its floodplain. It is small, but the depth is unprecedented, as well as beauty.

All this distance of the Sister's water remains calm, until the first rifts appear behind the Sloboda Bridge.

At the confluence of the Yakhroma River, the current increases significantly, and dangerous areas appear that do not allow kayaks to approach the opposite shore.

Finish the alloy best after the merger of the Sister with the river Dubna in Ratmina, which is famous for its beauty, clean beaches and fishing.

Rafting in Dubna

Rafting along the river Dubna is more suitable for beginners, since it is unhurried in most of its current, although it is very meandering and often changes direction. It does not have a level of complexity, so it is better to consider it as a way to rest on the water surrounded by beautiful nature.

The most picturesque places on Dubna are located near the confluence of the Veli River and the village of Verbilki. These lands are 80% covered with forests, which are rife with raspberries, black currant, mushrooms and bird cherry. There are comfortable beaches for parking.

A small wave of water begins at the confluence of Sister and Dubna, after which it becomes truly full until it flows into the Volga.

Holiday house on Dubna

Tourists who prefer a comfortable rest on the water, invites the recreation center "Ratmino". It is located 4 km from the city of Dubna in a very beautiful place surrounded by a relic forest. To services of visitors 2 cases on 160 places with modern cozy numbers.

For active people there are equipped basketball and volleyball courts, a football field, a gym and a tennis court. A children's playground is waiting for small children, and their parents have a dance hall and a billiard room.

Rest in this place can be combined with treatment and prevention of diseases. In the medical building, customers can undergo a course of electro- and light therapy, heat and hydrotherapy, manual and mechanical massage.

Rest on Dubna by the savage

If you choose a beach on the river Dubna for rest in a tent, then the best option will be the place of its confluence into the Volga. Here everything has to rest: sandy beaches, and the surrounding forest, and some remoteness from the settlements, which allows you to feel alone with nature, but if necessary, you can replenish your supplies or get medical help.
