Drama "Lovely Bones" and its protagonist George Harvey: a brief review of the film and the character

"Lovely Bones" is a heavy drama, which is an adaptation of the novel of the same name, written by Alice Siebold. The film was released in 2009 and received very good reviews. Which is not surprising, since the film is really strong.

Plot

From the first minute the viewer is introduced to a girl named Susie Salmon, who lives in a small town in Pennsylvania with her parents, younger sister and brother. The girl is a happy teenager. With dreams, plans, a good soul and a loving heart.

But just after a few minutes after the movie began, Suzy shocked the viewer with a phrase - in the beginning of December 1973 she was killed. The man who did this to her was George Harvey. Absolutely not suspicious at first glance, a man living in a house opposite. Even pretty - in big glasses and with a wheaten mustache. He is a coachman, he makes doll houses for children. And he grows amazing beauty of roses. It was he who killed Susie, also abusing her.

But the girl did not die. The film says - a person, dying, does not go away, does not disappear and does not dissolve. He continues to live in another world. So Susie - she watches her loved ones, with whom she never could meet, wishing that George Harvey was punished.

The image of the murderer

A brutal criminal is played by Stanley Tucci. George Harvey, as it turns out in the course of the film, killed not only Susie, but also the woman who rented the house, and other little girls. It's horrible. The smallest of them was six years old. George Harvey clearly has mental problems. Committing a crime, he still lives for a long time, remembering the moment of the murder of an innocent victim. But then they are overcome by desire again. And he is looking for a new victim.

The next was to become Lindsay Salmon - Suzy's younger sister. She, like the girl's father, feels that Harvey is the killer. And he decides to get even with a very ingenious lady. From that moment, by the way, it's been about two years now. Susie all this time is between the two worlds and watching their loved ones. The father and brother of the girl even feel her presence.

To Harvey, by the way, the police are coming. He behaves quite adequately. He manages to remove bloody shoes and clothes, throw an open magazine and a plate of cookies on the table, even sprinkling sugar - supposedly having breakfast. No one has any suspicions. He forgot to remove the bracelet with Susie's pendants - the "trophy", which he kept for himself. But the police do not notice this detail, and George Harvey manages to steal it unnoticed in his pocket.

Actor play

The film is good for everyone. The fact that it has a lot of well-written details, which the viewer has time to consider. Acting game. The composition is excellent - plays Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon, Sirsha Ronan, Rose Macawire. Separately worth noting is the game of Stanley Tucci. He does have to be on the film a "double" actor. Being in society, he seems a pretty and extremely polite man with a good-natured smile. And in private with Susie, he shows all his "devils", released from the pool. When you look at Stanley in the role of Harvey, it seems that this is really a real mentally abnormal rapist-murderer. Behavior, facial expressions, intonation - everything is perfectly worked out for the image. Because it's better to watch the film in the original.

Decoupling

The film keeps the viewer in a lot of tension. It is impossible not to experience empathy, pain, sadness, anger and aggression while watching it. The spectator really sympathizes with the heroes. And he wants the same killer as Suzy - punishment. And it comes. George Harvey does not escape punishment.

The film ends very well and dynamically. Lindsey finds evidence of the guilt of a neighbor - makes her way into the house and discovers the Diary of Suzy's Murder. The police come to the scene, but Harvey has already fled. In the end, when he tried to lure another victim under the pretext of driving her, an icicle falls on him - it's winter in the yard. Harvey rubs his shoulder and suddenly loses his balance. The killer falls on the rocks and breaks to death.

What can I say? It is recommended to watch this film for everyone - and not just for drama lovers. You can take a lot out of it for yourself.
