Do you know how to make several desktops in Windows 10?

If you use only one monitor, several desktops can be extremely convenient and useful for you. And although in some versions of Windows there was such a function, it was not completely open. Windows 10 is the first operating system in which multiple desktops have become basic, accessible to the entire function. You can add an almost infinite number of new desktops thanks to the new Task Viewer. However, functionality is still very limited - you can not drag programs between tables, you can not configure different screensavers, you can not switch from one screen to another, without having to switch between all the others. But even with such limited functionality, this feature is extremely useful, and you should definitely know how to use it.

Step One: Adding a Desktop

To add a new desktop, you need to create a new taskbar using a special button (two overlapping rectangles) on the taskbar or by pressing the combination of Win + Tab. In the taskbar, you need to select "New Desktop" to add it. You can also add new desktops using the combination of Win + Ctrl + D.

Step two: Switch between desktops

To switch between desktops, you need to open the taskbar and select the table that you would like to switch to. Also, you can quickly switch between desktops without having to peek each time in the taskbar. To do this, you need to use the combination of Win + Ctrl + left arrow or Win + Ctrl + right arrow. At the moment, you can add any number of desktops - they can even be several hundred. However, now there is no quick way to switch between them - you have to flip through all existing tables every time to get to the one that interests you. The taskbar shows nine desktops at the same time, but it does not even have a scrolling function - most likely it's a bug that will be fixed in the next operating system updates.

Step Three: Transfer windows between desktops

To move a window open in one desktop to another, you need to move the mouse cursor to the desktop where the window you need is open. A list of windows pops up, among which you must select the one you need, right-click and select "Move". After that you will need to select the desktop that interests you. In one of the latest updates there is also a simpler possibility of the usual drag and drop of windows from one desktop to another.

Step Four: Closing the Desktop

To close the desktop, you need to open the taskbar and move the cursor to the desired table, until the cross appears in the upper right corner, and you need to click on it. You can also close the table with the combination of Win + Ctrl + F4 - it will close the desktop where you are currently.
