Do women need postnatal pads?

A woman must watch for herself. Especially for their hygiene. Her body is designed in such a way that, if the elementary rules are not respected and the purity is not maintained in the genital area, the woman condemns herself to a mass of problems. And it's not just about the appearance of an unpleasant smell or itch. The consequences may be associated with a violation of the microflora of the pelvic organs, inflammatory processes and serious diseases.

It should be noted that the appearance of disposable liners on sale has greatly facilitated women's care for themselves. These pads are hygienic absolutely imperceptible and guarantee complete protection against leakage, infection and the appearance of an unpleasant odor.

Speaking about these means of hygiene, it is necessary to emphasize varieties. There are postnatal pads, daily, intended for use on critical days. They all perform a strictly assigned role and are distinguished by their ability to absorb a certain amount of fluid. For example, daily gaskets are very convenient to use every day, but not on critical days. Menstrual discharge they can not hold.

I would like to draw your attention to postnatal pads. These hygiene products appeared in pharmacies quite recently. But many ladies have already appreciated them.

A pregnant woman and a recently given woman have no monthly periods at all. But immediately after the birth of a child, she appears lochia - bloody uterine discharge. They are plentiful and last not for several days, but about a month. And postnatal pads woman just needed.

More recently, maternity hospitals have banned the use of disposable hygiene products. What then can I use? They gave out diapers. And they were not disposable and not personal (which is especially unpleasant). They were first issued, and after use they were taken back. They were cleaned in the hospital by nurses in common boilers, after boiling and doing a general disinfection. Probably, many mothers who have raised their children and got grandchildren for a long time remember these terrible diapers, intended for women in labor to absorb lochia.

Today, pads for mothers to take with them to the hospital are advised by the doctors themselves. A woman who has given birth can now feel comfortable and civilized.

What is the difference between postpartum and usual gaskets? First, they are larger. In the early days, the plains are very abundant. Change the hygiene product is often necessary, literally every two hours and (in the first few days), necessarily after going to the toilet.

Secondly, postnatal pads are sterile. The fact is that after delivery, the female organs are open to infection. It is enough to hit the slightest pathogen, and a serious inflammatory process will begin. Uterine discharge is an excellent medium for the propagation of parasites. It is important after birth to regularly wash thoroughly using soap, wipe and soak the perineum with a clean cloth. In the first days, it is recommended to change the gaskets as often as possible.

Thirdly, postnatal pads are comfortable and do not contribute to the appearance of diaper rash. If the mother has sutures, the use will not affect them in any way. They do not have a rubber synthetic base, do not rub, carefully treat the skin in the perineal region.

Lochias are abundant about 48 hours after birth , then their number is dying. As soon as there are fewer discharges, you can start using normal sanitary napkins. Those who like to use tampons, I want to warn. They can not hold the lochi in any way, and they can seriously harm them. It is important that the uterus is cleared more quickly and all the liquid comes out of it. Tampons delay this process, absorbing only a part of the secretions. And this can lead to infection.

In general, if you are going to give birth to a baby in the near future, then take with you to the hospital postpartum pads. A couple of packages are useful!
