Demodecosis: a tick on the face

Microscopic tick causing skin disease - demodicosis, is called demodex. The size is no more than 0,2-0,3mm. And lives on the face and hair of almost any person, and it is powered by the remains of dead skin cells and sebum. Usually a tick on the face is common in the eyebrows, eyes, eyelids, cheeks, forehead, chin and around the mouth.

The presence of a tick on the skin of a person can be considered a normal phenomenon, until it manifests itself in any way, but under the influence of some reasons, the parasite multiplies quickly, penetrates the deep subcutaneous layers, which is manifested by acne, rosacea, scaling and the appearance of crusts at the base of the eyelashes.

The tick on the face brings a lot of troubles, both physical and psychological. Most of all demodicosis is affected by adolescents, people who have experienced severe stress, pregnant women. The disease is easily confused with adolescents, which usually go away after puberty. This misconception may be threatened by the fact that the tick on the face begins to spread and seize vast areas of the skin. Extrusion of such pimples leads to the spread of infection, as the mites are pressed into healthy areas of tissues and affect them.

There are two types of demodicosis caused by the tick: ophthalmologic and dermatological. Ophthalmic demodicosis is manifested by reddening of the eyes, their rapid fatigue, pain and itching, loss of eyelashes. With dermatological - on the face pink pustules are formed. The disease is often accompanied by itching, which can occur even because of washing with cold water or rubbing the skin with a tonic. To diagnose the disease, several cilia are pulled out and scraped from the affected area. Microscopy takes only a few minutes.

Subcutaneous mite: symptoms

  • Redness of the skin in some places, peeling;
  • The appearance of itching (after using tonic or washing with cold water);
  • Manifestations of dermatitis, rosacea, acne, folliculitis;
  • Localization of the affected areas in the forehead, eyelids, superciliary arches, chin and nasolabial folds ;
  • Spring or autumn exacerbations.

The subcutaneous tick on the face itself will never disappear. Solving the problem requires an integrated approach. Treatment can appoint only a dermatologist who, based on the overall clinical picture of the disease, appoints antiparasitic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory or antihistamines.

In the treatment of demodicosis, ointments with sulfur are very effective. Now well-known cosmetic companies offer quite a number of skin care products, among which there are special anti-acne preparations for skin that suffers from subcutaneous mite damage.

Scabies: Symptoms

Scabies is a skin disease caused by a parasite - an itch mite (itch). The length of the female of this tick is 0.3-0.4 mm. She lives no more than 1 month, laying daily 2-3 eggs. Outside the human body, the tick can survive only 2-3 days (at room temperature), boiling or minus temperature dies almost immediately.

Infection with scabies usually occurs with skin-to-skin contact. Very often they become infected by household means, that is, through bed-clothes and clothes, or during sexual intercourse. Children can get infected from sick parents if they sleep with them in the same bed.

Symptoms of scabies are itching, rashes on the body, scratching, allergies. Itching is due not to the action of ticks, but to allergies to their saliva, excrement and eggs. A characteristic feature of scabies is the intensification of itching by the evening, and also at night.

With scabies, the rashes are localized in the area of the wrists, in the interdigital spaces, in the area of the elbows and elbows, on the feet, buttocks, external genital organs, axillary cavities.

The newest drugs that appear recently are very effective in the treatment of scabies, but the presence of contraindications and toxicity of some of them should be a warning to those who are engaged in self-medication. To be treated should be exclusively on the advice of a doctor.
