Chromatic color. How to make the world bright?

The richest world of colors contains so many colors that it can sometimes be difficult to determine with which shade one has to deal. However, when it comes, for example, about photography or cinema, we can confidently divide them into color and black and white. It is for these characteristics that you can accurately determine the belonging of a particular palette to chromatic and achromatic colors.

Separation of colors

Achromatic (black and white gamma) and chromatic color (gamma spectrum) got their names due to the Greek language. Literally they are translated as colorless and color. When mixed, they produce colors that are different in shades, lightness, and saturation.

The concept of chromaticity in itself is connected with the sequence of halftones. To chromatic colors are all shades of the color spectrum. Svetlota is a property that combines chromatic and achromatic colors.

Why do we see the world in color?

The ability of the human eye to perceive the various colors of the spectrum is an amazing gift that allows us to experience the storms of emotion at the sight of the sunset and rapid spring flowering, to determine the maturity of the fruits and create masterpieces of painting ... By the way, aesthetic perception of the world is inherent only in people.

For the perception of color , the cells of the eye respond directly. Not all living beings are capable of perceiving the world in color. But most people are available. Sticks and cones are special receptors of the eye. The former are responsible for the perception of achromatic colors, the latter for the discernment of chromatic colors. Impairment of perception is mainly due to the ability to see the spectrum or a separate chromatic color.

In order to see color, light is needed above all. Agree, in the dark you can hardly determine the color scheme of this or that thing. All objects are endowed with the ability to absorb and reflect light rays. In this case, only the length of the light wave has a value. For example, a green apple reflects waves, the length of which corresponds to one of the shades of green. All other colors are absorbed, so the apple remains invariably green.

Basic chromatic colors

In fact, all chromatic colors and shades are created on the basis of red, yellow and blue colors. A different combination of reflected light waves allows us to see a variety of color tones. So, for example, even babies can confidently say that by mixing yellow paint with blue, you can get a green color, and if yellow and red combine, the orange turns out.

Black color absorbs all waves. White, on the contrary, reflects them. These colors are called achromatic and have only one characteristic - lightness, which creates a spectrum of gray colors, starting from bright white and ending in black.

Characteristics of chromatic colors

Lightness of a shade allows you to compare chromatic and achromatic colors. So, any chromatic color can be compared in lightness with another shade of the spectrum or with an achromatic shade. Almost always, without hesitation, we can say which of the shades is lighter or darker.

We must not forget that, unlike the black and white scale, any chromatic color has a certain saturation. This characteristic is determined by the degree of difference in the hue from the achromatic equal in lightness and allows one to speak about its brightness. When you mix the chromatic and achromatic palette with the same lightness, the color does not change - the shades of gray do not have a color. Changes will occur when adding a darker or, conversely, a lighter achromatic palette.

Mysterious play of light

The most unusual colors for human perception are iridescent hues of mother-of-pearl, when the color changes depending on the angle of incidence of light. The name of the color is due to its natural manifestation - by the name of the mineral covering the shell of the mollusk. It is he who serves as a building material for the growth of the pearl.

Transfusion of colors occurs because of the special structure of mother of pearl, consisting of many tiny crystals, each of which refracts and reflects light. Therefore, the color of nacre seems to us such a shade, which overflows with all the colors of the rainbow.

Rainbow

It is generally accepted that there are 7 colors in the rainbow. The main chromatic colors are collected in a bizarre arc shape and smoothly pass one into the other. In fact, a rainbow is nothing more than the refraction of the sun's rays in droplets of moisture invisible to the human eye.

The rainbow becomes a natural phenomenon in the clearing of the heavens after the rain. You can also watch the rainbow over the reservoirs with intense evaporation, over fountains and waterfalls. Even on a frosty day, when the air is filled with small ice crystals, you can see this amazing natural phenomenon, which is considered one of the brightest manifestations of the spectrum of chromatic colors.

The world is full of bright colors and juicy colors, capable of pleasing the human eye, filling life with beauty and the richest impressions. Only after understanding the depth of the priceless natural gift, you can fully enjoy life.
