Dance padegras: music, scheme, author

In the XIX century, dances played a huge role in the life of society. A cultured and educated person had to move well to the music. Balls were the most popular place for spending leisure time and not only. They were held at any time of the day. They were divided into family, official-court, public. For them, the best outfits were sewn, famous musicians were invited. Then lavish dinners were organized. Balls are also colorfully described in works of art.

At the end of the XIX century, the audience was greatly pricked by popular quadrilles, mazurkas, polkas and waltzes. In Russia and Europe there was a fashion for new dances. The choreographers urgently needed to create a new pas to surprise the bored gentry. Thus, in 1900, thanks to Evgeni Mikhailovich Ivanov, the dance of the Padegrass appeared.

  • In a real school Voskresensky.

The professor also lectured in closed women's educational institutions:

Ivanov taught ladies in courses of dance and gymnastics. The artist and choreographer gave gorgeous balls in the hunters' club three days after Christmas and Easter, on Thursday for Shrovetide.

Evgeny Mikhailovitch Ivanov was dismissed from service in 1868. In 1879 he fell ill with tuberculosis and died suddenly.

Music for Padegras Dance

Padegrass is a dance, the name of which originated from the French pas de grase. In the XIX century, almost all of them wore names in this language. He occupied the same place here as Latin in medicine and Italian in music. Padegrass is a dance, the music for which consists of 8 bars and has a size of 4/4. The first mention of him was on music with notes of gavot Gerber. There is an assumption that it was this melody that inspired the choreographer to staging.

Dance of the Padegrass (scheme)

Before the dance, the participants of the ball are divided into pairs and must move forward along the trajectory of the movement. The legs are in the third position. Dance padegras was a pair ballroom dance with graceful quiet movements.

The man holds out his right hand to the woman. Next go such na:

  • Zaptak-participants squat slightly.
  • The first step: the right leg goes to the second position. This translates the weight of the body.
  • The second tact: the left leg is put to the right behind, that is, to the third position. After a little squatting.
  • The third is the repetition of the entire first measure.
  • Fourth: the left foot becomes the first dance position (coming to the right). Then, with an elegant slow movement, it moves forward and becomes a fourth on the toe. This element has the name "posing". The whole mass of the body is transferred to the right leg.
  • From the fifth to the eighth: 1-4-st cycles are repeated as in a mirror. Movements are made from the left toe.
  • From the ninth to the eleventh bars. Work with your feet according to this pattern: first right, then left and again right foot.
  • Twelfth: the left foot is positioned.
  • From the fourteenth to the sixteenth: the repetition of the 9th-12th measure. Movement from the left toe. At the sixteenth bar, the pose goes. The pair drops hands. Dancers turn to each other.
  • Seventeenth to twentieth: movements from the first to the fourth bars are repeated. Participants turn out to be face-to-face with dancers from another pair.
  • From the twenty first to the twenty-fourth cycle: repeats from the fifth to the eighth. The participants return to their partners.
  • From the twenty-fifth to the thirty-second cycle: the pair takes hands and makes one full circle (repeat from 9-16th). In the last movement, participants turn around on the dance line.

Paderegas in modern design

In modern choreography, all the historical ballroom dances have undergone great changes. Paderegas today has acquired many new forms. Choreographers added to the dance wiggling hips, hand movements. There is also an option for very fast music.

Historical-everyday dance is a cultural heritage of our country. Ballroom dance is included in the obligatory program of choreographic schools, ballet studios, folk ensembles.
