Crossover Opel Antara: a review of a new German car

For the first time, the compact German crossover Opel Antara was shown to the public in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. At that time, the company presented only a concept version of the novelty. Today's "Antara" is significantly different from the one that was shown in 2005. By the way, serial production of the model did not begin immediately, but it was only established in 2008. For this time the novelty has experienced one restyling. But how significant was it and whether the technical part on Opel changed?

Design of "Antara Opel"

The 2013 model crossover is in no way different from its older version by 3 years. What he was in 2010, so now he stayed. However, if you compare the restyling crossover Opel Antara with its pre-styling version of 2008-2010, the obvious signs of modernization on the face. This allows you to see even a photo.

In the exterior, the optics, the bumper and the positioning of the headlamps of the light bulb have changed slightly. In other respects, the design of the crossover remained unchanged. As before, the massive silhouette of an SUV without words speaks of its impressiveness and confidence. Although the new air intake of the "smiling" form makes him a kind "pet", who swiftly travels through the city streets and gives a mood to those around him. If you look at the novelty in the profile, you can clearly see the signs of the American car Chevrolet Captiva. And this is not surprising, because both crossover were built on a common platform. Behind the car received new rear lights of unusual shape and a wide chrome molding, located at the bottom of the luggage compartment. In general, restyling went to the German cross-over only for the benefit.

Technical characteristics of new items

In terms of technical equipment, the restyling version of the machine received a completely new line of power units. So, the old 2.4-liter gasoline engine "has matured" from 140 to 170 horsepower of power. The addition of this indicator not only made the car more dynamic, but also did not appear on fuel consumption. In a mixed cycle, the crossover spends no more than 9.3 liters of gasoline. The six-cylinder 3.2-liter engine "lost weight" by 200 cubic centimeters and began to develop 249 horsepower capacity.

Also do not forget about diesel engines. They, by the way, are also two, and with the same working volume of 2.2 liters. The difference is only in power: the first unit produces 163 "horses", and the second - 184. The power units are aggregated by a mechanical or automatic transmission.

Price

The price for the restyling crossover Opel Antara in Russia starts from the mark of 940 thousand rubles. For this cost is attached version with 2.4-liter petrol engine and manual transmission. For the maximum equipment will have to give about 1 million 153 thousand rubles. Naturally, here the most powerful 249-strong unit and automatic transmission. Considering that after the restyling the new crossover "Opel Antara" did not change in price and at the same time it was significantly updated technically, it will easily compete with its Japanese and Korean "classmates".
