Naturally, couplings have certain drawbacks. Some types of represented elements can deform, wear (polyurethane), do not always absorb the vibration of the system or mechanism.
Types of couplings
- Hard (made of metal). They are used in the assembly of various machines, which have high constructive qualities.
- Spiral (made of aluminum). Their peculiarity is that they can be bent. This function is provided with a special accessory structure: it has transversal cuts.
- With polyurethane inserts. Such an element is characterized in that there is a cushioning element between the two metal parts. Due to this structure, the couplings can absorb a significant part of the shock vibrations.
- Membrane. Their peculiarity is that they understand. They are often used to connect the shafts of mechanisms that are located at an angle to each other. Such an accessory is quite durable and functional.
A special type of heat shrinkable coupling is considered. It is used mainly to securely fix three-core cables. In almost all cases of wire laying, the element is used. Mounting such couplings is very easy: they just need to be put on the cable at the connection point and slightly warmed up. They are very tight around the wires, so their contact is very strong and well insulated.
