Cooking a squid salad

Today we are preparing a salad with squid. There are many recipes, but we will use only some of them. To begin with, let's try to make a squid salad with vegetables.

Recipe

Every cook knows that tender squid meat is well combined with almost any vegetables. In addition, fresh squid can easily absorb a large amount of sauce, so the dish can be given the most unusual taste. This reason and served as an impetus to the widespread distribution of squid in restaurants. Naturally, like any product, the squid should be properly prepared. For example, it can be spoiled if unready or, conversely, digested.

Ingredients

To prepare this salad, you do not need much stock. It will be enough to buy one large carcass of squid. As for vegetables, you will need three tomatoes, one sweet pepper, rucola or watercress (one bunch), basil and 5-6 olives. Also make sure that you have salt and olive oil.

A squid salad requires perfectly cooked meats

Previously, you could meet recommendations on how to cook squid. Some believe that it takes 3-5 minutes. But if you do not want to end up getting hard rubber squid meat, use the following tips. First, the frozen squid must first be thawed, and only then cook. Put on a medium fire a pot of water, add a pinch of salt, a bay leaf and black pepper (not ground, but peas). When the water boils, put the squid carcass into the pan. Slowly count to 10. Counted? Rather, take out the meat! Otherwise it will look like rubber. A squid salad is impossible to eat.

What if you still digested squid

In this case, you can return only softness to the product. True taste you will not feel. Cook the carcass for at least twenty minutes and let it cool in the same water. Now the meat is "blown off" twice and to taste resembles the seasonings in which you cooked it.

Preparation

Leaves of watercress or rucola break your hands on small petals. Lay them on the bottom of the plate, in which you are going to serve a squid salad. Cut the tomatoes into slices and place them gently over the salad. Add salt. Squid meat must be cut into strips. Further we mix it with small blocks of sweet pepper. This is the next layer of the dish. Olives are cut, as usual, in thin circles. We spread them together with the basil (first it must be chopped) the third layer. Pour everything with olive oil. The squid salad is ready. Who does not like puff pastry, know that there will not be anything wrong with the salad if you mix it. However, it is the layered version that looks better and more original on the festive table.

Other cooking options

Of course, this recipe is far from the only one. Mistresses often replace vegetables with rice and eggs. Then you get a very satisfying dish, which can replace the second one. It is not forbidden to add lemon juice or pressed garlic to the salad. For decoration you can use whole or chopped cherry tomatoes.
