Reinhold Messner is an alpinist with an interesting biography, unusual feats, which cause in any of us a genuine surprise and a childish delight. This person really has a lot to learn. Despite numerous obstacles, the Italian climber has never turned back, moving to a clearly marked goal. Messner is a courageous, strong and fully confident person, who can be taken as an example for himself as an example of self-improvement.

Reinhold Messner: Biography

The future conqueror of the mountain peaks was born in the Italian autonomous region of South Tyrol in 1944. Thanks to the received education, Messner freely speaks three languages - German, English and native Italian. Reinhold Messner in his childhood showed an extraordinary desire for knowledge, research and study of the world, which later played a role in determining the occupation of all life. The father of the famous alpinist Joseph Messner was a teacher with many years of experience and demanded from his son focus and concentration.

In total, the family had 10 children - 9 boys and one girl. However, the warmest relationship with Reinhold formed with his brother Gunther.

The first ascent of the mountain peaks

At the age of 13, Reinhold Messner, along with his brother Gunther, began the first ascents to the mountain peaks. Thanks to the shown courage and perseverance the brothers were included in the list of the best mountaineers of Europe at a very young age.

Messner was inspired by the activities of Hermann Bühl, which undoubtedly played a role in his later life. He was one of the first supporters of a new kind of mountaineering in the Himalayas. Its peculiarity lies in the fact that the ascent to the mountain peaks is carried out with rather light equipment and without the help of guides and service brigades. After a while, Reinhold and Guenther perform a similar climb to the top of the Himalayas, but an unforeseen tragedy happens. Having reached the summit, the brothers began descent, during which Gunther was killed, and Reinhold himself froze his fingers. After he reached the foot of the mountain, frostbitten fingers had to be urgently amputated. The public condemned him for the fact that the climb took place with a less experienced partner, as a result of which he was killed. Itself Reinhold very long experienced and mourned Gunter. Perhaps the climber has not yet forgiven himself for this.

As it soon became known, the body of the deceased was found by three Pakistani mountaineers.

The Conquest of Everest

In the 70s, Reinhold Messner proved to the world that he has the right to call himself an alpinist, having made an ascent to one of the highest mountain peaks - Everest. In 1978, together with the mountaineer Hebeler, the Italian reached the top without using respiratory equipment. This fact has very much amazed the public, because up to this point, no one has refused additional oxygen.

After a while, Messner made an independent climb to the top of Mount Everest, but already from the Tibet side. This was the first solo conquest of the top in the world.

The Conquest of the Eight Thousanders

Messner Reinhold set himself the goal of conquering all the available eight-thousanders in our world. And already in 1981 it rises to Shisha Pangma, whose height is 8013 meters. After giving himself time to rest and gather strength before the next ascent, Messner adds to his list of victories three more eight-thousanders - Kanchenjungu, Gasherbrum, and also Broad Peak. In mid-1983, it rises to Cho Oyu, whose height is 8,201 meters.

In the period from 1984 to 1985, the Italian mountaineer Messner Reinhold makes four more ascents to the remaining eight-thousandths. The first in the list for this period of time were the tops of Annapurna (8,091 meters) and Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters in height). Next fall, Messner conquers Makalu and Lhotse. At the time of the descent from the last eight thousand meters, an experienced tourist had 3,000 conquered peaks, almost 100 first ascents, 24 expeditions and a number of independent conquests of mountain peaks, for example, a solo climb to Everest.

Traveling through the deserts

After all the possible tops were added to the list of achievements, Messner Reinhold went on a hiking trip along the coast of Greenland, and also set out to cross three deserts.

After the climber crossed the Takla-Makan desert in China, the Gobi and the Sahara, he rushed on. The next achievement of the Italian was the crossing of Antarctica, trips to the North and South Pole.

April 9, 2010 Italian climber Reinhold Messner was awarded an honorable award for his achievements in the field of mountaineering.

Messner Reinhold: personal life

He for a very long time experienced the loss of his brother, blaming himself for what had happened. But after a while the pain and guilt went to the background. Messner Reinhold met his future wife, Sabine Shtele. The woman conquered him with her beauty, her mind, and also her love of adventure. Relations developed very quickly, and after several years, held side by side, the couple decided to officially register their relationship.

However, this is not the first marriage of a climber. Earlier, in the period from 1972 to 1977, he was married and has an adult daughter. Reinhold Messner, whose wife gave him three children, considers himself the happiest and beloved person on Earth.

Famous aphorisms of the climber

In books that more resemble an autobiography than mere stories, Messner expresses thoughts more like aphorisms. As mentioned earlier, the climber preferred a different way of conquering mountain peaks, and he had his own way of communicating with the mountains. First of all, as Reinhold himself thinks, respect must be shown to the top, and only then will she accept you.

So, Messner Reinhold, whose quotations scattered around the world with extraordinary speed, maintains that he exists only to overcome himself. This is a kind of stimulus to strive for more than you could already achieve. Messner-climber is always guided by common sense, full awareness of his experience and never takes risks.

And here is another, equally well-known statement: "Only the climbers know how much courage and effort it takes to step back, take a step away from your dream." Thus, Reinhold wants to inform the public that mountaineering is a kind of self-expression, allowing him to feel the fullness of life.

Messner - a man with many years of experience and role model

At the moment, there is only one person in the world who conquered all eight-thousanders, independently made a climb to the mountain peak of Mount Everest. And this is Messner Reinhold, a truly amazing and powerful man.
