Children's health groups

One of the criteria for the welfare of the state and society is the health of the younger generation. To date, you can observe the deterioration of most health indicators of children of different ages. Along with a decrease in the birth rate, an increase in infant mortality, an increase in the number of disabled children and patients with chronic pathologies, this serves as a warning signal about the threat to national security.

The reasons for this situation are: socio-economic instability, the ecological situation, low sanitary literacy and medical activity of the population, reform of the health care and education system, and others.

The concept of health implies a state of complete psychological and socio-biological well-being, the normal functioning of all organs, the absence of disease. The initial comprehensive assessment of the health status of children is conducted at a very early age. It is established not only the presence of certain diseases, but also the probability of their occurrence.

Today, physicians, using certain indicators, distinguish the following groups of children's health :

1st group. It includes healthy children who have the appropriate age-related mental and physical development. They lack morphofunctional and functional deviations.

2nd group. These children have some morphofunctional and functional abnormalities, a low level of immunorefense of the organism, suffered severe infectious diseases, often sick.

In recent years, there has been a sharp increase in the number of this group of children's health. Infants, as a rule, suffer from allergies, functional abnormalities in the blood. At an early age, food abnormalities are often found. For children of preschool age , deviations in the respiratory, nervous, urinary systems, ENT organs and the locomotor apparatus are characteristic.

Problems with the cardiovascular system, as a rule, occur at school age. They can be added to the deterioration of the work of the organs of vision, which is associated with adaptation to educational activities.

3rd group. It includes children suffering from chronic diseases at the stage of remission. Today there is a tendency to increase the number of this group of children's health.

4th group. Chronic diseases of children in the stage of subcompensation.

5th group. Children with disabilities and diseases at the stage of decompensation.

Groups of health in children are determined by the district pediatrician. In the presence of more than two diseases, the assessment is made according to the most severe. If the child has several serious illnesses, each of which gives grounds for attributing it to the third group, then the fourth group of health is put.

Determining the group of children's health is important to carry out in a timely manner. Especially it concerns the 2nd group. Such children need regular medical examination and physical control. Otherwise, the existing diseases may worsen.
