Child restraint for the bed with your own hands
The birth of a newborn is not only a great joy, but also a responsibility. Often, especially for this event, a whole set of things is acquired: a baby carriage, a bathing bath and, of course, a crib. The most important indicator when choosing the latter is an increased level of security. But how to avoid falling the baby on the floor during the rest? For this purpose, it is advisable to use a special child restraint for the bed.
What is the limiter?
If desired, the cot can be equipped with several restraints placed on both sides of the bed. Due to this, parents get rid of the need to buy a play arena.
Most often, for beds of newborns and still very young, the restraints are made of soft materials. This property largely prevents injuries to the child.
Height
For the equipment of the crib, in which the older child rests, it is enough to set the limiter of minimum height. The latter should only support the baby, without giving him unnecessary discomfort. In this case, parents can only choose the limiter for a child's bed, the design of which will please the child.
Built-in limiter
The built-in sides are most often complete with cots designed for children who are not able to accidentally fall to the floor during rest due to their own age. Usually, such solutions are used for kids who have already learned to walk. The built-in structures are made low so that, if desired, the child can easily cross the barrier.
Often, you can find a built-in child restraint for a bed that contains slits. The latter are used as an emphasis and allow the kids to climb back into the crib without assistance.
For schoolchildren, such funds create additional convenience rather than protect them from injuries. Therefore, the restraints intended for this age category quite often cover only a small part of the length of the bed.
Removable stop
An excellent example of an adjustable design is the child restraint for the Tom bed. Such a device contains a horizontal crossbar, which is connected to the rim and placed under the sleeping mattress. The design has retractable poles, which makes it possible to locate the barrier at a distance from the edge of the bed.
Limiters with drawers
The addition of cribs drawers is an extremely practical solution. The latter give a significant saving of free space when it is necessary to store a huge number of children's things.
Usually, such limiters are installed on the edge of the crib and contain built-in cross bars, which actually prevent the baby from falling during rest. At the same time, the functional boxes that serve as the basis for the design are best suited for storing children's clothes and bed linen.
Restriction for a child's bed by own hands
- Push the side of the bed close to the closet, bedside table or move a few beds;
- Use as a safety net mats or surround the cushion pillows around the perimeter;
- Lay the mattress on the edge of the bed, fixing its edge with the help of a chair;
- Protect the kid with improvised rollers made of soft material.
To once again not worry about the safety of the child during the rest, you can make a wooden limiter with your own hand, using as a sample any simple device of factory manufacturing. In the end, it's better to initially pay attention to functional cribs with built-in partitions, so that this problem does not arise.
The advantages and disadvantages of restrictors for baby beds
- The presence of the edge does not cause the baby to worry about a possible fall to the floor during sleep. Setting the barrier gives the child a feeling of complete security. Therefore, when in bed, he behaves extremely calmly.
- Parents do not have to worry about that the blanket or mattress will slip off the bed, and the child will have to freeze.
- Bokovushki, which pass around the perimeter of the sleeper, protect the kids from drafts.
- On the limiters with slots you can hang all kinds of toys that reduce the level of anxiety of the child during the rest.
As for the negative aspects, they are, first of all, to the limiters made of soft materials. Thus, fabric products are able to collect dust and dirt that the baby will have to inhale while in bed. Soft materials quickly get dirty, need careful care and frequent washing.
In the presence of a solid edge, the intake of fresh air and visibility are blocked. The latter drawback does not allow the child to know the environment. If the limiter is presented in the form of vertical or horizontal rods, there is a possibility that the child simply stuck between them and will be injured.
