Arriving in the garage is the first heavy element of driving experienced by novice motorists. In conditions where parking is hampered by limited space near the garage or on the parking lot, beginners often embrace panic, which leads to nervousness and, as a rule, errors.

Us, in the particular case, we are interested in arriving in the garage in reverse, since most of the difficulties are connected with this.

First of all, you need to work out the technique of such a maneuver. Let's say we will enter on the left side. Hence, the steering wheel will also need to be turned to the left, and in front of the car, respectively, will be shifted to the right, that is, to the side opposite to the movement. It is important to make sure that there are no obstacles or obstacles on the road, including in the immediate vicinity of the car.

So, let's get started. The starting position, before you start entering the garage, is to the left of the gate perpendicular to the entrance. Start the engine, squeeze the clutch pedal all the way to the end, lower the hand brake lever and start driving, gently releasing the clutch and gently pressing on the gas. In our case, it is more convenient to look through the left shoulder, do not forget to use mirrors. Move slowly and smoothly, a little before reaching the gate, the steering wheel should be turned to the left to the stop and, continuing to move, hold in this position until the car is perpendicular to the entrance. Now the wheels of the car need to be leveled, it needs to be done quickly, but unsharp. At this stage, you can stop for a few seconds and make sure that the car is in front of the entrance really smoothly.

If everything is in order, you can continue driving to the garage. If the entrance is on a hillock, it is necessary at the moment when the rear wheels are tilted into the curb, slightly press the gas and release it again as soon as they overcome the obstacle. The same procedure will have to be done with the front wheels.

After parking in the garage is completed, turn off the gear and then release the clutch, otherwise the car will jerk back and may hit the obstacle. Take for yourself the rule of first turn off the engine, then release the clutch and put the car on a handbrake.

To practice the skills of parking in reverse is best in the open area, as it is done in driving schools. For maneuvers it is possible to use special racks. So you will create a sense of space, and do not damage the surface of the car in case of any mistakes. As for parking near shopping centers, where there are relatively few places on all sides, perform the maneuver as slowly as possible. Do not hesitate to get out of the car and once again make sure that you will not touch someone else's car when entering or leaving the parking lot. While you still feel bad car dimensions, it will be superfluous and ask to see someone for the correctness of the performed movements.
