Central lock VAZ-2110: the device of system, scheme and repair

The central lock VAZ-2110 is an additional option, it is not included in every car kit. In practice, a fairly cheap mechanism, easy to install, repair and use, but with the slightest breakdown the car owner faces difficulties. It is not very convenient to check before each exit from the car whether the flags of the locks are omitted. It is much easier to close all the locks with a single button on the alarm panel or by turning the key in the driver's door larva.

The operation of this device can be carried out either jointly with the car alarm system or without it. The basis of the device is a block of the central lock VAZ-2110, which is a small circuit, consisting of several semiconductor elements and electromagnetic relays. Instead of the latter one can use not transistors, but transistor power keys.

Despite all the advantages of the central management of the locks, one should not trust him completely, especially if certain sinners were observed for him.   1. The drive of all locks occurs when the driver's door is unlocked / locked.
  2. When the car alarm is armed and disarmed. Provided that the alarm control units and the central lock are connected.

If the central lock VAZ-2110 does not work, the fault is a defect in the actuators - gearmotors. Especially if the device is subjected to a large load or the motor often works. In the case of a physical defect (fusion, destruction), there are such symptoms:

  1. On the door in which the defective activator is located, the unlocking / locking function stops.
  2. The fuse breaks down due to excessive loads on the supply circuit.

Causes of breakage of activators

Virtually all the components of the activators are made of plastic. It is strong enough to withstand heavy loads. But there is also a marriage, and a violation of the work of the castles. In the latter case, there is a sharp increase in the load on the motor, the gears are able to break down, get out of gearing. The lock will be buzzing, but the flags will not go down (or do not rise, depending on the current state).

But such a manifestation of breakdowns can be caused by incorrect installation. This is only if relatively recent work has occurred, directly or indirectly related to the elements of the central castle. Breaking the adjustment of the rods is the first bell to the fact that the whole system will not work correctly. The lock on which the adjustment is incorrect will not work, while the others function properly.

Central Lock Control Unit

About where the central lock (VAZ-2110) is located, every motorist who has ever encountered him knows. It is located under the central part of the instrument panel, directly on the floor. To distinguish it is quite simple: a block made of plastic, a harness with a shoe at the end fits to it. After removing the cover from the unit, you will see in it a small board with electromagnetic relays. It is this unit that is responsible for the functioning of the entire system. And the reasons for its breakdown may be:

  1. If the activators fail, increasing the load on them, the current in the power supply circuit increases. This results in significant overloads, failure of the fuse, destruction of the printed circuit paths. With prolonged thermal loads, soldering is destroyed, the mounting legs of the elements lose electrical contact with the entire circuit.
  2. Age plays an important role, so that contacts with electromagnetic relays can break down over time. Transistors are not eternal, they can also fail when overloaded.
  3. The fuse blown leads to the fact that the entire circuit does not work - the central lock does not respond to anything. There is a fuse in a special rubberized or plastic case, in the rupture of a red (sometimes pink) wire. Please note that it is not possible to install fuses of a higher rated value, as this will result in fusible wiring and fire.
  4. The plug connection of the control unit is one of the most vulnerable places. Next to it is a stove (heat source) and driver's shoes, on which there can be dust, dirt, and water. All this together is the reason for the appearance of oxidation on the shoe. You can get rid of it with the help of special solutions or sprays (WD-40 and the like). If the condition of the pad leaves much to be desired, it is easier to replace it completely.

Control unit electronics

The circuit of the central lock VAZ-2110 consists of semiconductors and electromagnetic relays. But the latter are not used in all models of CZ. It is much more efficient to use transistor keys, they work on the principle of relay, but there are no physical loads. As a consequence, mechanical wear is completely excluded. But the chance of breakdown of semiconductor elements is still present.

In the event of a breakdown, the CP on the top ten will either be permanently set in motion or completely stop responding to actions. To check the operation of the control unit, it is necessary to connect alternately to the yellow and red wires of the driver's motor gearbox. It is desirable directly on the connection block to the control unit. Breakage in wiring

The next important element of the whole system is electrical wiring. The work of the central castle depends on the state in which it is. If there are wiping wires, cuts, it will inevitably lead either to the spontaneous activation of activators, or to their inoperability. Most often the wiring is destroyed in places of folds - between the door and the body. To check the integrity, you need to wire each wire separately. Just do not forget to turn off the power, otherwise damage the multimeter.

Malfunction of the limit switch

The end allows the control system to understand in which position (locked or unlocked) is the door at a given time. With its help, a signal is given for unlocking and locking on the relay of the central lock VAZ-2110. In the case of failure, a pattern can be observed in which the signal for unlocking arrives and there is no locking signal. To make repairs, you need to completely change the activator of the driver's door. Repair these items are not subject to, therefore in case of breakages will help only a complete replacement.
