Care for garlic is not particularly difficult

Garlic is today one of the most common garden plants, which is found on every dacha site. It is included in the recipes of many dishes, in addition, it is an excellent medicine that can fight with a lot of microbes in the human body.

Care for garlic, especially in the spring, does not require much effort. This plant is cold-resistant, able to begin the process of its growth at zero or even a small negative temperature. Zubki in bulb are formed at five degrees of heat, and ripen already at twenty and more.

The first weeks after planting care for garlic is a frequent watering. During this period, intensive root growth begins. The next day after watering, you need to loosen the aisles at a depth of two or three centimeters to break the crust formed on the surface of the earth and improve the soil air exchange.

In addition, as the growth of garlic care is to weed out weeds from weeds and watering as the soil dries. Experienced summer residents, who do not have enough time to go to the site often, know that in this case it is necessary to loosen the soil around the roots and sprinkle them with sawdust. In this case garlic survives even with occasional watering.

Garlic care is reduced before harvesting. At this time, watering stops, but in order to get large heads, the plant should be broken in about two or three weeks at a height of about fifteen centimeters from the upper leaf. Thus, the harvest increases by about a quarter.

In early November, such care is necessary for winter garlic, as mulching a two-centimeter layer of well-decomposed dry peat or humus.

As a mulch well suited and fallen leaves, which need to be spread out on the garden. In early spring, when the shoots of winter garlic just beginning to appear from under the ground, mulch is removed. This is done in order to prevent the growth of the plant.

In spring and summer, during growth and development, garlic care includes compulsory feeding of mineral fertilizers. During the vegetation, the plant needs nitrogen make-up, and after the middle of June, when the bulb begins to form and grow - in phosphate-potassium. However, one must know that the excess of nitrogen fertilizers can cause increased growth of vegetative masses and a decrease in the yield of onions.

The first fertilizing is carried out after the appearance of two or three leaves. For this, a tablespoon of urea is bred in ten liters of water. The beds with this solution are watered from the watering can (five liters per square meter). Two weeks later, the fertilizer is repeated. The third and last time fertilizers are introduced at the end of June.

However, the most important stage, which consists of caring for garlic, is still a constant watering. The plant does not tolerate excessive moisture. With rare watering, the bulbs are small. It is best to serve the water on the beds in the morning or evening. At the same time, if the temperature is below fifteen degrees, the plant does not feel the need for moisture. In June, winter varieties form their own floral arrows, at the end of which air bulbs develop.

Today, spring garlic is gaining popularity , planting and caring for which basically do not differ much from winter crops.
