The homeland of the boxer is Germany. The breed of boxer dogs was bred in the middle of the 19th century, and officially recognized in the early 20th century. In the thirties of the last century, the breed became popular outside Germany and even Europe.

The ancestors of the boxer are the dogs of fighting breeds. Until the 19th century, representatives of this breed were used to bully the bulls and took part in dog fights. Breeders have completely deprived the modern boxer of aggression, but he is well trained in protective-guard qualities.

Today, the dog is an excellent bodyguard, a watchman, a guide to the blind. The boxer is incredibly good-natured, merry, obedient, playful and very fond of children, despite the formidable appearance. This is a wonderful companion and a great variant of a family dog. He gets along well with his breed and cats, but he is wary of strangers and dogs of other breeds. A boxing dog dog has a strong nervous system, is calm, bold, patient, simple-minded and completely devoid of treachery and hypocrisy. The boxer remains energetic and playful to a very old age. He is sociable, loving and strongly attached to his family members.

The Boxer is silent and barks only in extreme cases. For a dog it is not characteristic to rush at once to the enemy - before the attack it will roar. The boxer's training is facilitated by his mind, but the stubbornness of the breed's representatives hinders him. To beat the boxer categorically it is impossible - he either will grow cowardly and hammered, or becomes aggressive and vindictive. Raising a pet, you need to act solely with the help of caress, praise and delicious treats. He is perfect as a first dog.

Boxer - a medium-sized dog, short-haired, with a strong backbone, square configurations, well-developed relief muscles. A characteristic feature is bite: the lower jaw protrudes forward, which provides a good grip. He has an expressive short snub nose with folds and a very rich facial expression. The dog's paws are strong and straight. At the withers, the boxer reaches a height of 50-60 cm, and the weight is between 25 and 30 kilograms. Color can be pale, tiger and white. White spots on the chest, muzzle, abdomen and paws are allowed. Boxers are taken to stop tails and ears, although the natural option is not contra-indicated. The life expectancy of dog boxer breeds can go up to 12 years.

This is one of the most powerful and hardy dogs. At the same time, the boxer is harmoniously complex, graceful and noble. The dog is very mobile and requires that she be provided with constant motor activity. It's not enough just to get out, but you have to invent various outdoor games. The boxer needs daily training.

Boxer - the dog is clean, does not require special care for the coat. It can easily be maintained in a city apartment. Smooth short hair requires periodic cleaning with a soft brush or a suede cloth. Thin short hair dogs do not particularly bother the owners, except during moulting. You can regularly wipe wrinkles on the muzzle, although they are not as deep as a bulldog.

A boxer is a dog that does not tolerate heat well. Because of the short muzzle, the dog can easily get a heat stroke. In the hot season, the boxer must be protected from overheating and limited his motor activity. A dog of this breed does not like cold damp premises, as it is prone to colds. Boxers are very sociable and do not tolerate loneliness. They are inadmissible to be kept on a circuit or in an aviary on the street - they must live indoors. The dog is very jumping, which should be remembered by the owners of private houses - if the fence is not high enough, it will easily jump over it.

The dog is unpretentious in eating. Given the motor activity, you should give the pet a full portion. At the same time, boxers are prone to obesity and can eat without knowing the measures. Therefore, they can not be overfed.
