Biography

Messerer Boris Asafovich was born on March 15, 1933 in Moscow. The aristocratic family name sounded throughout the country. Messerer - a name memorable, legendary and known to this day.

His father was a ballet master, a famous Soviet dancer and teacher, and her mother an actress of silent cinema and an artist, she also worked for many years as the main artist of the Moscow Circus. In such a creative atmosphere, the future legendary theater artist, the famous Russian stage designer Boris Messerer, grew up. His biography continues to be written today.

The beginning of the creative path

According to Boris Asafovich himself, from his father he inherited working capacity, and from his mother - the artistic vision of the world. Asaf Mikhailovich (Boris's father) was a very strong-willed and energetic person who, even on his eightieth birthday, danced one of his famous concert numbers "Footballer". And the mother of the great theater artist was an amazingly beautiful woman with a so-called aristocratic beauty.

From the very childhood Boris was distinguished by an independent character, freedom-lovingness and his own opinion. Was always beyond the influence of teachers.

When at the end of the school it was necessary to take one of the most important life decisions: what university to enter, Boris Messesser was afraid to go to the art school. He was afraid that he would not be able to pass the exams and sustain the upcoming workload, so he decided to enter the Architectural Institute. And he never regretted it. Architectural high school gave the future legendary set designer a lot, and he still very highly appreciates it.

Painting

Many called Boris Messerer a non-conformist, but he himself always called himself a "pure water" artist. Back in the 60s, Messerer Boris Asafovich was considered "the king of Moscow's bohemia". The great legendary artist is endowed with a special, rare gift: to transform ordinary things into meaningful artistic images. For example, a separate series of paintings is devoted, it would seem, to ordinary household items. Such as irons, gramophones, kerosene lamps. But each of these objects on his canvas acquire animation and a new, some special meaning.

Boris Messerer always first of all wanted to associate himself with art, to be a famous painter, but at one time he had to change his profession. And the artist connects the transition from the art of depicting reality to the theater with colors, first of all, with his great teachers and idols: with Fonvizin and Tyshler, since at that time the paintings could be sold exclusively through the artistic council. It was necessary to appear at least the slightest hint of unusual, unconventional thinking, and the picture was instantly rejected.

Then the salvation for many artists became theater. That's the way then went and the famous later Russian stage designer - Boris Messerer. His photo is presented in the article.

Theater

Today the famous name of Boris Asafovich Messerer is associated with more than one hundred and fifty dramatic, opera and ballet performances in various Russian and foreign theaters.

The first of his performances the legendary stage designer staged in Moscow's Sovremennik. The performances immediately brought him to the forefront of theatrical art. As a result, it was this practice that gave Messerer a colossal experience and a great name.

With his hand to this day, connect such amazing performances as the "Carmen Suite" by Alberto Alonso, who brought the idea of modernism to the Bolshoi Theater, "Queen of Spades", "Appointment" and "The Third Desire" in Sovremennik. The play "Further Silence" in the Moscow City Council, "Suicide" and "Andryusha" at the Satire Theater and many, many others.

Personal life

The first marriage, which was concluded by Boris Messerer, was with Nina Chistova. The ballerina of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia presented Boris with her son Alexander. But the marriage of the artist and the artist was not so happy, and soon they divorced.

From the very childhood of Alexander Nina tried to drag him all the way into the ballet, but Boris immediately said that the child would be an artist. And so it happened. The legendary painter instilled in his son a sense of color, taught him to choose the right compositions and tones. Thanks to this Alexander Messerer became a famous artist who holds annual exhibitions of his paintings.

His second wife, Bella Akhmadulina, Boris met in 1974. The story of their happiness, which lasted until the death of his beloved, still lives and breathes in her poems and his paintings.

The love story of Boris and Bella

Bella was a famous poetess and writer. They met absolutely spontaneously and casually in the House of Cinema, located on Cook Street. Now there is a theater actor.

Boris Messerer was simply fascinated by her. Bella conquered his heart at first sight when she came to the Cinema House in the snow and with snowflakes on her hair. Before meeting with his beloved Boris did not read her poetry and did not even suspect that she was a famous poetess.

After they met, he still did not want to read her poems because there were always a lot of people around the writer. And it was never possible to understand: these people who admired either poetry, or Bella herself. Boris did not want to become one of those admirers.

Once back home after a day's work , the artist found Bella for writing a poem. Then, first reading her creation, Boris grabbed the first nails that came to hand and nailed the leaf with her work to the ceiling. So he's been hanging for forty years.
