Boric acid in the ear

When appointing an otolaryngologist in a complex treatment of uncomplicated otitis, boron alcohol is used. For washing the auricle, hydrogen peroxide is additionally prescribed, and antibacterial drops for fighting infection.

Boric acid in the ear in otitis can be applied only after a preliminary procedure for cleaning the shell with hydrogen peroxide, which effectively removes sulfur. To do this, five drops of peroxide are added to the patient's ear, and, tilting the head in the opposite direction, gently rub it with a cotton swab. To treat otitis at night, boric acid for the ears is used as compresses. This gauze is moistened with gauze flagella, which are laid in the diseased ear.

Boric alcohol in otitis is used in combination with antibacterial drops, which are digested after it. The ear is cleansed with hydrogen peroxide. After that lay a cotton wool with heated boric alcohol. After an hour, use antibacterial drops.

Contraindications

Boric acid in the ear can not be digested for more than a week, as it has a number of side effects, namely: headache and vomiting, impaired renal function and seizures. But the most undesirable can be a shock state. Contraindicated in the use of boric acid in the case of kidney problems, with breastfeeding and pregnancy. To prepare a solution of boric acid it is necessary to have:

- cotton swab,

- stand,

- funnel,

- measuring capacity,

- the very acid.

The bottle should be rinsed with water, previously strained through cotton wool. Then dissolve 2.4 grams of boric acid in 120 grams of hot water. The resulting solution is filtered and poured into a container.

When using boric acid, it is necessary to remember its belonging to poisons. Therefore, avoid contact with eyes. Also, boric acid should not be treated with the oral cavity, since absorption of this drug into the blood can cause poisoning of the body.
