"Baikal surf" - a tourist and recreational zone of Buryatia

Baikal is an amazing place. Unique and unusual there is absolutely everything - clear water, high hills, deep hollows, sandbanks, flora and fauna. Natural objects

The peninsula of St. Nose lies at some distance from the zone "Baikal surf", but this does not prevent it from being a popular place for hiking. The place is famous for bogs, which constantly give off gas. To the west, in the center of the lake, the Ushkany islands - the rookery of the Baikal seal are rising . Ushkany means "hare". This name was given to marine seals.

The archipelago is famous for unique vegetation: Dahurian larch, birch with black bark and many others. The territory is under protection, since 2011 it is allowed to be only scientists on it. You can see the famous seal from the deck of a cruise ship.

On the east coast, in relative proximity to the complex "Baikal surf", is the Spirit Lake. There, fish are caught perfectly, especially crucian carp, which is found in huge numbers. Bubbles of gas rise from the bottom of the reservoir, which creates the effect of "breathing" water. With this property, a legend is connected about lovers who, because of the hostility of the families, could not be together and drowned.

Historical reconstruction

Near the Spirit Lake is the museum "Bright Glade". He recreates the life of the local population of the time of the Russian pioneers of the XVII century. The museum represents several wooden buildings in the form of an ancient settlement. A little to the north lies Arangatui - a lake with a unique ornithological system. A few dozen rare birds nest on the islets of the water area.

To experience historical places and learn the secrets of the development of Siberia, it is worth to visit Baikal. "Baikal surf" is located near the village of Posolskoye, which was named after the Posolsky Savior-Transfiguration Monastery, founded in 1681 on the site where Russian ambassadors who traveled to Mongolia with great values were killed. On the territory are two churches, built in the XVIII and XIX centuries.

Hiking in the mountains

A lot of routes for hiking are located in the Khamar-Daban mountain range. Baikal Surf is located in the distance from these places, so a walk can take a whole day, but it's worth it!

The mountain ranges abound in beautiful places and sights. The first on the way there are three warm lakes, surrounded by mixed forests, and peaks, overgrown with trees. On one of the peaks there is a natural viewing platform in the form of a separate rock. For more active tourists who are ready to move within two or three hours, new types and panoramas will open. These can be ponds and peaked peaks. If you have chosen to rest at the Baikal surf, then to the point of hiking you will have to drive about two hours.

The basic place is usually chosen the place of the confluence of the Snezhnaya and Selenginka rivers. From it go to the Sable Lakes, the water surface of which is surrounded by a wooded mountain range. Nearby in the channel of the Red River are the waterfalls of Fairy Tale and Beard.
