As in the "Word" turn the text vertically. Rotate text in Word (2007 and 2010)

Microsoft Office Word is an application that allows any person to make a document at will. The functionality of the program is very wide, and not all users know about all the features of the program. This article looks at the algorithm for how to rotate the text vertically in the Word.

Using the inscription

Variants of how to rotate the text vertically in the "Word", there are several. The easiest way is to use an inscription. To insert an element into the document, select the Insert menu in the quick access panel, where you can find the "Caption" item. After entering the text inside the established area, it remains only to make a rotation of the text - you can do this in two ways.

The first is to rotate the area of the inscription itself - after selecting the text above the element, a green dot appears, responsible for the rotation. By holding the left mouse button on it, you can achieve any rotation angle of the text.

The second way of how to rotate the text vertically in Word is using the "Text Direction" function. Selecting the text, go to the "Format" tab in the quick access toolbar in the drawing tools, and click on "Text direction" in the "Text" section. In the pop-up list that appears, you only need to select the desired rotation angle, and the text will take a vertical position.

One of the main advantages of using the inscription is the broader possibilities in choosing the angle of rotation of the text. Other ways to change the direction of the text can change direction in only three different directions.

Rotate in the table

There is another convenient way to rotate the text vertically in the "Word" - there is a function for specifying the direction of the text in the table. When choosing this solution algorithm, you need to insert one or more cells of the table by selecting the "Insert" field in the quick access panel, then clicking on the "Table" button in the "Tables" panel, selecting the necessary object parameters.

Having determined the desired place for the text and moving the table there, you need to insert the text in the cell. After selecting the range of cells in which you want to rotate the text, you can then change the direction in two ways.

To rotate the text in Word 2007 or 2010, you must select the Layout tab, and on the Alignment panel, click the Text Direction button. Each click on the button will rotate the text in a new direction - top-down, bottom-up and left-to-right.

The other way works the same in all versions of the "Word" - selecting one or more cells, you have to right-click on the selection and in the opened menu find the item "Direction of text". After that, a window will appear, in which you will be offered three options for rotating the text field.

After performing these operations, it remains only to hide the borders of the table cell and get the desired result.

Sheet rotation

Another solution to the question of how to rotate the text vertically in the "Word" is to change the orientation of the sheet itself. This approach is less convenient, because it turns all the text, and also problematically provide the necessary location of the elements during operation. But in some cases you can use it.

To rotate the sheet, you must either double-click the left mouse button on the ruler - in this case the "Page parameters" window opens, where you only need to select the necessary orientation of the sheet, or, when working in 2007, select the "Page Layout" tab and In the "Orientation" menu, select "Landscape". In previous versions of the program, you can achieve a similar result through the "File" menu, where the "Page Setup" item is located.

Change font

In addition to the development of the program itself, auxiliary elements to it develop. Thanks to this, other ways of how to turn the text vertically in the "Word" appear. One of them is the use of a special font. It automatically prints the letters in a reversed form.

A serious disadvantage of this approach is the difficulty in typing - each letter begins with a new line, and to create a second vertical line, you will have to spend a lot of effort to align it. In addition, to rotate the text in each of the parties will have to use a certain font, and if you want to format it, you need to look for a specific version. Therefore, if you want to rotate the text vertically in the "Word", use the simpler tools specifically implemented in the program.
