Many believe that it is enough to build a hen house in the bird's yard and populate the birds in it. However, simply erecting the structure will not be enough. It is necessary to implement the arrangement of the chicken coop from the inside. Next, let us consider in more detail how to do this.

General information

In general, there is nothing difficult in constructing the roosts, equipping the nests, conducting lighting. However, if one of the above things is done poorly or missed an important point, then the birds will become uncomfortable indoors. And this, in turn, can affect their condition not in a very favorable way. The arrangement of the hen house from the inside (the photo will be presented later in the article) should be carried out taking into account various factors. First of all, the room should have optimal lighting, humidity level and temperature. It is also necessary to take care of ventilation, the competent placement of nests, drinkers. To ensure that everything was in accordance with the rules, it is not superfluous to get acquainted with the experience of equipping other poultry farms. The article will consider only the main aspects of the arrangement of the coop.

Ventilation system

The construction of the coop can begin with the creation of a ventilation system. Not all poultry farmers are well aware of its correct construction. The ventilation system in the poultry house is presented in the form of two two-meter pipes made of a board 2.5 cm thick. The exhaust element should be installed above the nests with a ceiling level. The air inlet pipe is fixed approximately 50 cm below the attic floor. It is desirable to install it away from nests and roosts, so that it does not chill with cold. A flap must be made for each pipe.

Lighting

Implementing the arrangement of the hen house, it is necessary to take into account that for a good egg laying, birds need about 15-17 light hours. In this regard, in the morning and evening hours in the room should work additional sources. Many, carrying out the arrangement of the hen house with their own hands, disregard this need. Rarely, as practice shows, you can find in the house a thorough lighting system. Often, all the work boils down to quickly assembling the wiring from existing materials, installing a light bulb burning around the clock. Lighting, built on this principle, not only will not bring benefits, but, conversely, can harm the chickens. Birds can develop nervous exhaustion, as a result of which they simply stop carrying eggs. Proper arrangement of the henhouse (photos presented in the article, can serve as a good example) involves competent wiring and installation of lighting fixtures in the required areas. It is more expedient from a security point of view to route wiring outside the house. In this case, the cables will be reduced to one shield. It can be assembled from plywood. A socket and a switch are installed inside the flap. Some owners are eager to save money and use open incandescent lamps screwed into the cartridge. In this case, the light sources will have to be changed quite often. The fact is that the birds, flying from place to place, will be constantly hit by bulbs. This is fraught with not only their burnout, but also the closure in the wiring. To prevent such excesses, it is necessary to install thick-glass plafors, inside which the incandescent lamps of the required power will be screwed. This will ensure the optimum level of illumination and create a safe environment.

Room heating

The arrangement of the henhouse from the inside (the photo illustrates this clearly enough) should be primarily comfortable for birds. To make them feel comfortable, you need an optimal ambient temperature. Many owners do not insulate the poultry house. Some believe that there is enough insulation outside, and if there are many hens in the house, they will provide themselves with heat. On the one hand, this is so. But in this case it is worth considering that the temperature in the henhouse will not be above 6-8 degrees, which, in turn, will provoke an increase in humidity. A heater of 1 kW will help to get rid of it. The best is an oil assembly. To ensure that the chickens do not touch the heater, the appliance is installed far away from the roosts. For greater security, a plywood box with holes is built for it (warm air will flow through them). The cable can be additionally lengthened and taken to the shield with a socket on the street.

Overtaking

The arrangement of the chicken coop implies, among other things, compliance with the arrangement of the elements of the sides of the world. For example, the door is better to install from the east. This is due to the fact that this is the optimum amount of light necessary for the production of vitamin D. It, in turn, is necessary for better assimilation of calcium. Vitamin D is produced in the body of birds independently in sufficient quantity provided that light enters the optimal volume. It is better to build an enclosure so that one part of it is located from the east, the other from the north. As a hedge, metal bars are used. They are covered with galvanized wire mesh. It is better to dig the pillars deeper so that the hens can not make a dig and get out of the pen. The height of the fence should be at least 2.5 meters. This distance is enough to prevent birds from flying out.

Floor

Many owners arrange an earthen floor in the pen. But over time, such a foundation will be abundantly flavored with droppings, and during the precipitation will turn into a mess. Then all this dirt is carried by birds to the chicken coop. To avoid this, you can lay a wooden floor in the enclosure. You need 15x15 cm board and unedged board.

Nests and roosts

Implementing the arrangement of the hen house, we should not forget about the convenience of cleaning. In particular, it is more expedient to make the design of the roosts removable. The material for them can serve as bars 50x50 mm. The edges of them should be rounded with a plane, otherwise the birds will form potholes. In winter, birds are pressed closer to each other, and in summer, on the contrary, they try to stay away. This can be used when installing the roosts. In the summer time racks are added, and in the winter time shelves are removed. This will ensure the optimal landing of chickens. According to many owners, birds are ridden in dark places. However, in reality, they choose simply secluded corners, and cackling after the bird has taken down the egg is a distracting maneuver for predators. The number of nests should be sufficient to accommodate all individuals. If a hen sees another hen in the vicinity, then it will not be carried. It is believed that it is optimal to install one nest for three birds. Where they will stand, the chicken does not care. Therefore, it is better to build them where it will be more convenient to remove them. That birds do not spoil the droppings of a nest and do not spend the night in them, you can make covers at an angle of no more than 60 degrees.

Cleaning of house

Carrying out the interior arrangement of the hen house, in the western wall of the room an opening is made. Its area should not be less than 0.5 m ² . It will greatly facilitate cleaning. The opening can be equipped with two covers, which will be opened upward. Chicken humus is considered a valuable fertilizer of organic type. Therefore, it is dried under a canopy, and then tamped into bags. As necessary, humus is mixed with ash and used for fertilizing plants.

Dust baths

Proper arrangement of the chicken coop inside presupposes the creation of optimal conditions not only for the individuals to go well, but also for them to be healthy. To maintain the feathers in proper appearance and destroy pests, birds bathe in the ground, sand. To ensure that chickens can receive dust baths, you need to make a large capacity and install it on a site that is closed from precipitation. As a filler, you can use ordinary garden soil, mixed with ash and sand. Such baths are best placed in the places of chickens' walking.
