Analysis of Pasternak's poem: a picture of the soul

"February" is one of the first known poems of the famous poet. Extraordinarily short, laconic, capacious, as if chased, it simultaneously amazes with its versatility and beauty.

An analysis of Pasternak's poem is difficult precisely because of this many-sided work, deliberate simplicity and inner harmony and complexity. It was written back in 1912 and very soon, the following year it was published in a poetic collection titled "Lyrics", which became the first printed speech of the poet. Already in the forties he wrote a new version of this work, but then returns yet to the original.

No matter how simply Pasternak himself wrote, the analysis of the poem is given to the descendants with difficulty. His theme seems to be understandable. But then everything gets confused. It seems to be February, then what kind of showers are we talking about? The point is that all these are expressions typical of symbolism. As the poet's friend and literary historian Konstantin Locks wrote, Pasternak's work is a new reality, another dimension, in which the perception and mood of the mental world merges with the real world around the person. And then everything falls into place.

While analyzing Pasternak's poem "February", it is with this approach that one must act: through the conditional reality of the soul and its perception, the poet himself must go to images, each of which more resembles a capacious and colorful symbol. All of Pasternak's early poems are, above all, a picture of the soul, its torments, experiences and aspirations. Sadness, separation, sadness ... All this is not a phenomenon of nature, but a throwing of the soul. The very first word in the poem, before the point, is a kind of theme of the whole work. February. A simple, short word, like a heartbeat, a weak push that will move the whole avalanche off the mountain.

While making an analysis of Pasternak's poem, the reader gradually begins to understand that he is not moving in space, but rather in time. After all, it's about February. Then why the "black spring" and downpour? It's more like March, if not April. And even later, understanding of the author's conception looms. The beginning of the poem is a peculiar journey, a journey from winter to the coming spring. Then the pace accelerates, a whole network of events flies by, until the last quatrain comes, monotonous and uniform, smoothly returning the reader to the very beginning.

An analysis of Pasternak's poem also reveals the features of the rhythmic construction of the poem, which more closely resembles the ringing of a bell. He then buzzes measuredly and low, then flutters quickly and gently. In the figurative series of the poem, sound plays a very important role. It is he, and not visual images, that dominates the poem. Slush rumbling, noisy, deafening cacophony cause a vague alarm, a sense of confusion, and are combined with the poet's soulful throwings.

Spring mood, awakening, the desire to write, create - that's what is even clearer reveals the analysis of the poem Pasternak. And although the birth of new poems is painful, tense, the poet seeks to overcome all obstacles and in the poem purposely accelerates time, striving for the finale. Hence the click of the wheels, the waterfall of the shower, the noisy flocks of rooks. The whole rumble is like falling on the poet, trying to crush, put out the fire in his soul.
