Alzheimer's Syndrome: causes, symptoms and course of the disease

Alzheimer's syndrome in modern medicine is considered one of the most common diseases, which leads to death. The situation is further aggravated by the fact that to date, the reasons for its development, as well as the methods of treatment, are not yet fully known.

Alzheimer's Syndrome and the causes of its occurrence . As already mentioned, the reasons for the development of such a violation are not fully understood - only some of the risk factors are known . With such a disease, the structure and functionality of the brain is broken - at first slowly, and then more and more quickly. On average, the life expectancy of people after the diagnosis is 9 years.

Alzheimer's syndrome is accompanied by the accumulation of protein in the brain tissues, from which plaques are subsequently formed. At the same time, neurons begin to gradually transform into tangles. It is these processes that lead to so-called dementia. But the reasons for them are not known.

It is believed that one of the risk factors is the age of the patient, since the probability of developing the disease increases after people in the age of more than 60 - 70 years. Nevertheless, this syndrome can not be considered natural in the process of aging - this is pathology.

Another reason is the genetic material, as it is proved that the disease can be transmitted from parents to descendants, but this is not always necessary.

Alzheimer's disease: symptoms . In fact, the first signs of the disease may go unnoticed. A person becomes a little distracted, forgets where he put things, can not remember the names or surnames of familiar people. But this does not always happen and in most cases no one pays attention to it, especially if the sick person is at a respectable age.

But the disease begins to gradually progress. In this case, there is a violation of the so-called cognitive functions of the brain. There is a partial loss of memory, as well as the absence of abstract thinking, the impossibility of solving even the simplest mathematical problem or example.

At the middle stage of development, Alzheimer's symptoms become more pronounced. A person can repeat the same question or a story absolutely verbatim several times, but this he is not able to comprehend. The patient loses his skills - for example, he forgets how to brush his teeth, make tea, dress, etc.

In addition, his behavior is becoming more alarming. For example, it can be aggressive, or, conversely, too frightened. In a conversation can not follow the logical development. Close to the heart perceives what he saw on TV - can confuse what he saw there with reality. It is not able to move independently along the street, as it can get lost even in familiar places. It is difficult for a sick person to read and write. There are problems with speech - the patient understands everything perfectly, but can not build a sentence.

Alzheimer's syndrome also causes physical changes - there is a shiver in the limbs, shuffling, slow gait. The patient often falls, does not keep his balance.

In a serious state, the human brain begins to erase from memory even innate reflexes. For example, in such patients, an attack of suffocation can occur only because they forgot how to breathe. Or, when eating, the patient suddenly forgets that it should be swallowed. Very often at this stage of development a person loses the gift of speech and therefore refuses to communicate with relatives. There is an involuntary urination. The patient begins to sleep much more.

Cure Alzheimer's syndrome at this time is impossible. In the treatment of such patients only those drugs that facilitate life and partially slow down the process of degeneration of the brain tissues are used.
