A heart attack. Symptoms And Treatment

If any part of the heart muscle suddenly ceases to be supplied with oxygenated blood, then a so-called "heart attack" or "heart attack" occurs. If the flow of blood does not soon begin to flow as expected, this part of the heart muscle begins to die.

Infarcts - one of the main causes of mortality. Only in the USA, for example, heart attacks take first place in the list of causes of death in both men and women. However, not everything is so gloomy. The good news is that remarkable methods of treatment have been developed against heart attacks. They can not only save the lives of people who have had a heart attack, but also prevent possible negative consequences. These methods of treating infarction, however, are most effective when they start to be applied immediately after the onset of symptoms. So if you or someone, as you think, had a heart attack - immediately call an ambulance.

Very often coronary artery disease leads to heart attacks , also known as coronary heart disease. In coronary disease, coronary arteries seem to be clogged with platelet plaques. The function of these arteries is to supply the heart with blood rich in oxygen.
But when the coronary arteries are clogged with platelets, there is a so-called atherosclerosis. This condition develops very long, literally for years and decades.

The danger of atherosclerosis is that sometimes platelets can break away from the walls of the arteries. So a blood clot forms - a thrombus. If the thrombus is large enough, it can significantly or even completely block the flow of blood into the artery. If you do not quickly take measures to remove the blockade, that part of the heart muscle that fed from the artery, will die. A healthy heart tissue will be replaced by a scar tissue. This damage to the heart muscle may be unnoticeable, or it can cause extremely serious complications.

A less common cause of myocardial infarction is a sharp spasm (constriction) of the coronary artery. Spasm blocks the flow of blood through the artery. Moreover, spasm can occur in those arteries that are not affected by atherosclerosis.
Infarcts can be directly and closely related to such serious health problems as heart failure and arrhythmia.
Heart failure is characterized by the inability of the heart to pump the amount of cut that is necessary for the normal functioning of the body. Arrhythmia is also called irregular heartbeat. Arrhythmia can cause fibrillation of the ventricles - a deadly condition that, in the absence of treatment, can lead to the death of a person.

As early as possible, seek medical help
How to save your life and minimize the damage that will be inflicted on the heart if you notice the symptoms of a heart attack? The answer is simple - act quickly. The methods of treating infarction are most effective when they start to be applied immediately after the onset of symptoms.

Symptoms of a heart attack include:

  • Pain or discomfort in the chest. This includes feelings of pressure, compression, overflow, and pain in the center or left side of the chest, ranging from tolerant to strong. Chest discomfort or pain often lasts more than a few minutes, or disappear and appear again.
  • Discomfort in the upper part of the trunk, which is felt in the hands, back, neck, jaw and upper abdomen.
  • Difficulty breathing, which can occur with or before pain in the chest.
  • Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, cold sweat.
  • In addition, the symptoms of a heart attack include sleep problems, fatigue, lethargy.

So if you or someone, as you think, had a heart attack - immediately call an ambulance. Quickly begun treatment can save a life.
Do not go to the hospital yourself, but also use someone's help. Call an ambulance so that doctors can begin treatment of a heart attack while on the way to the hospital.

Be healthy.
