How to Fight With Ptosis

Ptosis (lowering) of the breast is, perhaps, the problem that no woman can indifferent. A drooping, spaniel- like buzzing horn is the source of thousands of comlexes. With such a chest it is difficult to pick up beautiful clothes, it is embarrassing to go out in a bathing suit or to appear in underwear, and in an intimate life it can become a stumbling block.
The saddest thing is that ptosis is an inevitable phenomenon, and therefore even the owners of a beautiful, elastic breasts face it sooner or later.

Ptosis and its causes

Ptosis is the result of the influence of the force of gravity. It acts on the mammary glands and gradually stretches the soft tissues and skin. Therefore, with age, ptosis occurs in every woman. This is facilitated by the fact that the skin gradually loses its former elasticity and elasticity. In addition, with age, the volume of glandular tissue decreases, and the coverslips remain the same.
But many women face ptosis at a young age. For example, after a sharp weight loss, as well as after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
During pregnancy, the volume of mammary glands increases significantly, and when a woman finishes breastfeeding, the breast returns to its previous size, but the stretched skin can not contract to its former state. As a result, the breast drops, its contour is distorted, the shape worsens.

Degrees of ptosis
There are four degrees of ptosis. At the first degree (pseudoptosis), the chest itself falls slightly below the submarine or pectoral fold, but the nipple and areola remain above it. At the first degree, the nipple falls below the submarine line by approximately 1 cm, at the second - by 1-3 cm, and at the third - by more than 3 cm.

Mammoplasty will solve the problem

A cardinal solution to the problem of ptosis may be mammoplasty, namely a breast lift or mastopexy.
With the help of mastopexy, the breast is tightened and fixed to a new level. Such an operation, if necessary, can be combined with breast augmentation with a silicone implant. If the chest is too large, the lift can be combined with a reduction in the breast.
The operation for a breast lift is under general anesthesia. After the operation, the patient remains in the hospital for no more than two days. After 12-14 days, remove the stitches. During the rehabilitation period, the wearing of special compression underwear is shown, which prevents the seams from widening and fixes the breast well. There are certain limitations in physical activity, a hot bath, a sauna and a jacuzzi are contra-indicated. Finally, a new breast is formed after half a year.
