Hemangioma of the spine - treatment, classification

What, in fact, is a hemangioma? First of all, it is a benign tumor in the blood vessels that forms in the cavity of the spine and between its body of the cartilaginous space. To provoke the appearance of the disease can, for example, fracture of the vertebral body. As a result, blood begins to accumulate in the vessels, where it lingers, gradually the formation increases. Usually such a symptom passes without any signs, but in rare cases, pain is palpable and there may even be a slight bleeding. If you had to face a disease such as a hemangioma of the spine, treatment of it should be urgent.

How does hemangioma begin to develop?

Everything happens according to this scheme: since the walls of the spine (only some of them) are inferior, they undergo microcracks. Often this happens when you load it, and this, in turn, leads to hemorrhages. This blood also contributes to the destruction of the bone structure of the spine, and all because the function of osteoclasts is activated. At the same time, two kinds of functions start to be launched: 1) thrombosis, 2) recanalization.

Most often this disease has to hurt women. It is least common in children. People aged 30 years old are affected by this disease. A tumor can first be imperceptible, but soon it begins to increase, also after the injuries received.

There are cases when the tumor begins to progress in the third trimester of pregnancy. First of all, the thoracic spine is affected, after-lumbar. In rare cases, sacrococcygeal segments or the cervical region may be affected. In any case, after the hemangioma of the spine has been identified, treatment should not be postponed, it is necessary to conduct it as early as possible in order to avoid serious consequences.

Classification of hamengioma

The disease can affect the most diverse structures of the vertebrae. Types of hemangioma:

1) the entire vertebra is affected;

2) only the body of the spine is affected;

3) insulation of the rear half-ring;

4) the vertebral body and part of the posterior half ring are simultaneously affected;

5) epidural localization of the tumor.

In addition, the structure of the gamangioma is divided into:

1) capillary;

2) cavernous;

3) mixed.

Since the tumor is benign, it will not lead to death. In this case, the hemangioma of the spine, which can be treated without surgery, does not bring much discomfort. But still there is a small percentage, when the tumor will continue to progress, treatment will be just necessary.

Conducted treatment of hemangioma

Treatment of hemangioma can be carried out by several methods:

1) radiation therapy ;

2) embolization;

3) alcoholism;

4) surgical intervention;

5) vertebroplasty;

6) combined method;

7) treatment with folk remedies.

If you take into account the treatment of hemangioma with a laser - this is the main and necessary method of treatment. Its purpose is to stop the development of the tumor. After using the laser , certain problems may arise: the impossibility of restoring the integrity of the vertebra, the development of the compression fracture does not stop, it is possible to damage the nervous structures. The use of it must be rejected by pregnant and young people.

Each method of treatment will necessarily have its pluses and minuses. To date, some methods have been replaced with innovations, for example, embolization was replaced by a decompressive type of operation.

Hemangioma - treatment with folk remedies.

It is strictly forbidden to treat this disease on its own, without the supervision of specialists! At best, you only save the disease at the level at which it is, but complete cure is impossible.

In order for the treatment to yield results, it is necessary to apply the modern method - radiotherapy. It is necessary that after the hemangioma of the spine was found, treatment of it began immediately, in order to avoid the increase in the disease.
