Ventolin (metered aerosol) refers to selective beta 2-adrenomimetics. The active ingredient is salbutamol in the form of sulfate. The drug does not contain dyes and preservatives.

Ventolin's instruction allows to use in the treatment of bronchial asthma in complex therapy. The drug is also shown in COPD accompanied by obstruction in the airways of reversible nature, including emphysema of the lungs, chronic bronchitis.

Ventolin's instruction does not recommend the use of hypersensitivity, the threat of abortion, premature birth, until the age of two.

Adults prescribe at bronhospazme for one or two inhalations (100-200 mkg) to eliminate the attack. To prevent the development of paroxysmal conditions, Ventolin recommends the use of the instructions for use ten to fifteen minutes before exposure to the irritating factor. Dosage in this case - two inhalations (200 mcg), children - one or two (100-200 mcg).

With prolonged maintenance therapy, children and adults are recommended to use the drug four times a day. Dosage at the same time - two inhalations at a time.

The use of the drug during lactation and during pregnancy is allowed on the recommendation and under the constant supervision of a specialist. In some studies, the ability of the active ingredient, salbutamol, was found to penetrate the lactating milk. However, there is no information on any effect of the substance on the state of the newborn during the period of feeding. In some cases, the patient, after using the inhaler, may feel irritation to the pharyngeal mucosa or oral cavity.
