Why you need a virtual drive

So, what is a virtual drive? This device is located in the system and completely simulates the real drive. Someone may ask: how can you replace all the functions of the latter? How can I read disks with a device that is not actually available? In fact, the above device with real compacts does not work. It is necessary for working with images. A disk image is a file that has the extension .ISO or .NRG. Each of them is an exact copy of the compact. We will talk about the creation of images a little later.

Now let's figure out what the virtual drive is for. Imagine that you have acquired the long-awaited continuation of your favorite game. That's just to play, you have to drive a drive with it in a physical drive for several hours. Obviously, in a couple of months the gaming CD can be nailed as an ornament on the wall. As an option - turn into a stand under the hot mug. And all because excessive exploitation will thoroughly undermine the health of a "brilliant friend". Or here's another option. A friend brought you a DVD with a new film, which you need to view within two hours to get it back. In both cases, the virtual drive recovers. You will just need to create an image of CD / DVD, throw it into your computer and either play it all day long, or watch a new blockbuster when it's most convenient. Most importantly, the most valuable images can be recorded on real compacts and put in your media library.

But to take advantage of all the benefits that a virtual drive gives, it must first be created. For this purpose, you can use a number of programs: Alcohol, NERO, Daemon Tools and so on. Install any one of them and run. Further, guided by hints (you chose the Russian version, right?) Create an "untrue" disk will not be difficult. By the way, after the creation, it will start to be reflected in the "My Computer" folder. By the way! In order for everything to go smoothly, you need the rights of the PC administrator.

Next, it remains only to create an image to later insert it into the new drive. By the way, it is not necessary to extract it from there (at night, for example).

In some cases, the user may need a virtual floppy disk drive. Incidentally, this peripheral device (speech on a real drive) has survived virtually all its competitors. And you can meet it even on the most modern computers. Of course, it is no longer used to store information, since there are media much more capacious. But we are not talking about this now. A real floppy-drive can be used as a notable means of resuscitating a "dead" operating system or for flashing the BIOS. Similarly, the situation is with the "imaginary". The only difference between them is that the second one needs to be created. This can be done with the help of various programs, which are on the Internet in bulk. You can store new (or new) "floppics" either in RAM-memory or in a separate file. Finally, I would like to note that you can use them just like the real ones. That is, copy data, delete it or even format it.
