Why does the society still have etiquette rules?

We believe that we live in a cultured, educated society, at the dawn of the 21st century, and quite civilly behave in the overwhelming majority of cases. "Why do ethical rules exist in society?" - you ask. From time immemorial there were certain laws of behavior in a highly developed cultural society, among people who represent a higher class of education and behavior.

Let's try to find out why there are rules of etiquette in society

To start a little history. Several millennia ago, a system of caste separation was formed. Ancient India, China, Rome - in the highest circles there was a regulation of conduct of representatives of power and rich births.

In Europe, this concept appeared a little later. It was introduced by the French King Louis 14, who invited all court guests to submit labels with rules of conduct written in them in the palace.

In the broad masses of etiquette entered the first half of the 14th century in the form of a whole code for different strata of the population, written by the Florentine Giovanni Della Caza.

In Russia, the rules of ethical behavior came in themselves from religious treatises. Before the reforms of Peter I the whole Slavic people lived according to the rules of "Domostroi", guided by the Holy Writ and the religious worldview. Peter brought changes, taking the example from Europe.

Why does the society have rules of etiquette, if we have long ceased to be divided into castes and estates?

In a more recent history, the rules of etiquette began to be more specific. In the 18-19 centuries society was still divided into certain classes: noblemen, bourgeois, ordinary people, etc. In order to create successful and equal in social status marriages, regular seasons of balls were organized. At such events, first of all, undeveloped children, who were ready to marry, were taken out and presented them to the society. Parents and children got acquainted, shone with each other with their wealth, education, upbringing. Then each representative of the upper class understood why there are rules of etiquette in society. Ignorance of them could turn into a catastrophe for a young man or a girl, since this moment was considered to be fundamental, and the training of rules began almost from diapers.

Rules of modern etiquette

Today, these rules are applicable to social events. Various representatives of government, business, entertainment industry meet periodically at similar events with the sole purpose - as bright as possible to flash under the sights of photo and video cameras paparazzi. And it is here that their ability to behave properly in such a society is important.

- Business etiquette - the rules of filing yourself in the workplace.

- Military etiquette is a strict subordination and a framework for communication and action in military circles.

- Diplomatic - strict restrictions and rules of conduct among foreign diplomatic circles, the form of dialogues, the schedule of visits, the submission of information.

- General etiquette - a set of rules and behavioral framework for average citizens in any society and place.

Wherever a person turns out and up to what rank he grew up, the main thing is to preserve his humanity, spirituality, culture of behavior and respect for his neighbors and for nature.
