What should be the artist's tools

To people who work in the field of fine arts, it is important to have all the necessary accessories, with the help of which their unique canvases will be born. And in order for the work to be professional, it is important to purchase high-quality materials and artist's tools that correspond not only to generally accepted standards, but also to the personal requirements of one or another master. After all, some creators work with pastels, others adore oil, while others even prefer graphics, sketches made in simple pencil.

But, despite all the variety of genres of contemporary painting, the artist's tools should include in the first place pencils. It is desirable to acquire a complete set of simple pencils, in which there are both hard and soft. To create a sketch, as a rule, choose the average stiffness (in the range from 2N to 3V). If the artist creates a picture only with a simple pencil, then the range is greatly expanded. Finely honed hard tools (for example, 5H) are suitable for sketches, they are also ideal for drawing small details. Feathering, pouring and creating shadows is done using soft pencils (within 5V).

The artist's tools are inconceivable without an eraser and a nag. If the soft pencils are able to make the drawing mark and slightly spread out, and the hard ones leave a trace behind, then the two above mentioned objects are able to solve these problems. Buy is a soft eraser, which does not "cut" the paper, but at the same time performs its function qualitatively. In order to adjust fine details of the pattern with it, it is enough to cut such rubber into triangles that will have sharp tips. If your drawing gets dirty, the nag will help, which absorbs all unnecessary and makes the paper more white.

Despite all the charm of black and white graphite drawings, the complete creation of the master is considered when the paints are added. Therefore, the artist's tools are mostly composed of different palettes. Each of them has its own individual composition and properties, that's why it looks different. Beginners always use watercolor. This paint easily lays down, the color is transparent and pleasant. Watercolor is easy to play - mixing its shades, you can create incredible colors and make the picture unique. More complex is its analogue pastel. Although these paints have been used by the master for centuries, mastering the work with them is not so easy. But thanks to pastels and watercolors, unique, light and airy landscapes are born - drawings of the seas, steppes, winter forests ...

The tools of the artist, who has some experience in the field of painting, necessarily include gouache. Such colors differ color completeness, saturation. With their help portraits, still lifes are born, and also they are ideal for drawing of small details. It is interesting that, just as watercolor appeared after pastel and became its simplified analog, gouache appeared after the world's painters mastered the oil. Of course, the results of work with these paints vary too much, but the technique of applying strokes is very similar.

Do not forget about the brush. If you draw with pastel and watercolor, then you need to choose instruments with round pile of different thicknesses. For oil and gouache, as a rule, flat brushes are bought. In conclusion, it should be noted that if you know how to call the artist's tools, and have full information about all their properties and features, working in the field of painting becomes easier.
