What is the permissive prayer? In what cases is it necessary?

The prayer of cleansing, read by a priest before a person after a ritual is performed, is called permissive. It is believed in the Orthodox faith that permissive prayer cleans the human soul, relieves the burdens of one's sins, relieves "impurity." What is "uncleanness" in the church concept, we will explain below.

When is the prayer allowed?

God, through the priest, releases human sins through the "formula" of purification. This "formula" is the permissive prayer. It should be pronounced only in those cases when a believing Christian really realized his committed sins, mistakes and hated them. Only in that case a person can not repent, if this prayer is read at the funeral service. So when is the prayer allowed?

In the Orthodox Church there are only three cases, when the forgiveness of sins occurs with the use of permissive prayer:

  • At the burial service;
  • after childbirth;
  • After the confession.

Resolving prayer at the burial service

Everyone who considers himself a Christian should fulfill his religious duty and conduct his relatives and relatives in the last way is worthy. On the forgiveness of the sins of the deceased, the church prays not only for requiem services, requiems. When a person goes to eternity, the priest performs a funeral service, then burial occurs.

At the end of the funeral, the priest reads the permissive prayer. Its text is written on a sheet, which must necessarily be included in any funerary set. After the prayer is read, it is necessary to enclose it in the right hand.

In the text of such a prayer, petition from all prayers and on behalf of the priest about forgiveness to the deceased of his sins. This expresses the hope that the Lord will free, forgive a person from earthly sins and take the deceased into heaven. In addition, the prayer asks to save the deceased from various curses that could be imposed on him by ill-wishers in life.

Thus, during the funeral of the funeral, permissive prayer is a very important part of it. Priests call this prayer for the departed to another world. In the church, the permissive prayer is also called the "roadway" prayer.

Pregnancy and childbirth

In the modern world, as before, the pregnant woman is treated with trembling and love. They protect it, they try not to get into conflicts, they are inferior in everything. But here for the church and religion, a woman waiting for her child, and a young mother is a ban. To attend the church, it is necessary to read the cleansing or permissive prayer of the mother after the birth, a certain ritual is performed. Are they surprised? But it is so. Even when you baptize your baby, before going to the temple, a woman goes through a similar ceremony. Young Christians who honor the laws of the church should not only use permissive prayer, but also perform a rite, which in modern times often contains various mistakes. To avoid them, contact your father, he will explain what you need to do to a woman after childbirth and what - before baptizing a baby.

The uncleanness of a woman

In accordance with the New Testament, a person can become contaminated only by the soul, he can not have physical impurity. But, unfortunately, this applies to men. A woman in Orthodoxy is subject to ritual physical impurity. We need to thank our ancestor for this Eve, who still succumbed to the snake tempter, and then "vparila" forbidden apple to Adam.

  • The uncleanness is "cyclical". On critical days, a woman is not allowed into the church. At this time, she is forbidden to touch the holy icons and receive communion. As an exception, this is allowed to those who, on such days, lie on their deathbed.
  • Family uncleanness. Within forty days after the resolution of the burden (that is, after giving birth), women are considered unclean. They should refrain from going to church. As in the first case, they are also forbidden to take communion and touch sacred objects.

Where in Christianity did the notion of impurity originate, when is it necessary to read permissive prayer after childbirth?

The concept of this Orthodoxy was borrowed from Judaism. Leviticus explains that during the period of menstruation, a woman is unclean, and also within 40 days after she is born. The prejudice towards a woman in this matter is also evidenced by the fact that after the birth of a boy the woman is unclean for 40 days, and if a girl is born, all 80. Because of original sin, Eve persecutes such discrimination in Christian women.

Laws of visiting the temple

Most young women can not accept and understand why it is forbidden to enter the temple "unclean", as well as with the baby after childbirth. There are religious laws and reasons for this, which true Christians should observe. Prohibitions go in the following sequence:

  • First, the woman after the birth with bloody discharge refers to the impure. At this point, her body and she herself are cleared of the effects of filth of sexual contact, the Bible says.
  • Secondly, the great law is the sin in the church to shed blood in any form. Previously, there was no modern hygiene products, and a visit to the temple was banned.
  • Thirdly, the health of mom and her baby can be adversely affected by congestion in the church. Especially it concerns epidemiological periods.

As can be seen from the above, not only religious reasons are forbidden to attend church on such days. It is better to listen to advice to avoid problems.

Resolving prayer at confession

The sacrament of repentance is a church ritual, in which a priest confesses his sins and asks him to let them go. After a one-sided monologue of the penitent, the priest forgives all sins, an invisible forgiveness comes from God. At its core, confession is hard work. A man reveals his soul before a priest - "servant of the Lord." How is repentance going?

  • The priest utters certain prayers that encourage the penitent to confess sincerely to sins.
  • A man, kneeling before the analog, where the gospel lies, voices his sins as before the Lord.
  • At the end of the confession, the head of the repentant priest covers with an epitrail (embroidered with a cloth).
  • The permissive prayer of the sacrament of confession is read, thanks to which the priest in the name of Christ liberates the repentant from his sins.

Repentance in sins contributes to the fact that the soul of a person is purified, at the expense of this there is a rapprochement and reconciliation with the Lord.
