What is the difference between an ordinary user of an Internet resource and a moderator (who is it, what rights it has and why it is needed)

The Internet is becoming more and more densely integrated into the lives of ordinary people. Now many in the network do not just search for the necessary information, but also sell the goods, buy them, play, communicate, share their experience. Each user of sites with ads, forum participants or the author of articles is familiar with the word "moderator". Who is this, especially well know by those who like to speak out of hand or cunning with the placement of information on the network. In fact, if you look at terminology, the moderator is called a user with greater rights than the rest. What exactly this privilege is expressed depends on the resource itself and on the purpose with which it was appointed by the administration.

Moderator: who is it, and why is it needed?

On a site with private ads, for example, he makes sure that their text complies with the filing rules, rubric and other resource requirements. If it is a question of a forum or other community, then the meaning of moderation is reduced to banal ordering.

As for the expanded rights, here everything is strictly individual. On some resources, the moderator makes remarks to the infringer, removes incorrect messages on others, refuses publication or corrects the text. In some cases, it may temporarily or permanently block the account.

Can I report a moderator and how?

If it is a question of any commercial project, then the person in charge of order is a hired person. Depending on the load, the attendance of the resource and other nuances on it can be as one moderator (who on the forums is usually seen on the corresponding inscription under or above the avatar), and a few, his in each group (thread, topic, page). Immediately it is worth noting that the popular sites with a rather serious load are served by a whole team of employees. Accordingly, the moderator is not the last instance, and if there is any conflict or misunderstanding, it makes sense to contact the administration. For small forums that do not generate revenue, the situation may be different: the moderator or choose from ordinary users, or they will be the owner of the site. Naturally, in the latter case, the dispute with him is completely useless, it will be easier just to stop using the resource.

How to become a moderator?

The answer to this question also largely depends on the site. Serious Internet resources of global importance hire people who meet certain requirements for this post, and quite often they fulfill their duties while in the company's office. A moderator at home is also a common phenomenon. But if this is a job, and it is rewarded for it, then it must be properly implemented. The basic requirements of the customer are usually reduced to literacy, loyalty and the ability to be on the network at a specified time. If the candidate meets them, he can easily search for job offers for the post "moderator". Who is this in a particular case and what functions are to be performed, is stipulated in the interview with the representative of the employer, as well as the terms of payment for labor.

If the user has created a website, organized a forum on it and wants to follow the order, then he can appoint himself a moderator or choose someone from regular visitors. This work can be carried out both on a voluntary basis and for a reward. If you generalize all the possible options, it turns out that the moderator is a person who is following the order on a certain Internet page, in a forum or in a separate branch. And how he does it, what rights and duties he has, the owner of the resource decides.
