What is the "adjacent territory" in the SDA? Features of traffic, parking and recommendations

Many drivers of vehicles have difficulties with entry and exit from yards, parking lots, parking lots and other similar places. Especially this problem is urgent for beginners. In order not to get a fine and not to lose a driving license, you should know what the adjacent territory is. After all, this term includes parking, and residential areas, and gas stations.

What is the adjoining territory

The SDA answers this question in the following way: it is a section of the road that is in close proximity to the roadway, not suitable for through traffic. This includes parking lots, gas stations, yards and so on. Movement in this section of the road is governed by SDA. The adjoining territory allows to enter and leave, but, as already mentioned, it will not be possible to pass through it.

How to determine the adjacent territory

A common misconception is to consider the intersection of the carriageway and the adjacent territory as a crossroads. They need to learn to distinguish. After all, for the passage of the intersection there are certain rules (SDA). The adjoining territory, in turn, is characterized by other rules different from them. Therefore, in order to avoid punishment from the traffic police, the driver must clearly know both.

To learn how to distinguish them, the first thing to remember is the definition and signs of both sites. If before you - the intersection of roads, which are equipped with traffic lights and signs, then you are at a crossroads. Such differences are prescribed in the Rules of the Road. Also, according to the traffic rules, traffic lights are installed only at regulated intersections and pedestrian crossings. To place them on the adjacent territory do not allow rules. The same is said about road signs. The adjacent territory (entry and exit) is not equipped with them. Therefore, this zone does not apply to intersections. In the adjoining territory, there are no sidewalks, no roadway.

Knowing what are the signs of a crossroads, it's easier to find out. So, and to distinguish from the above-mentioned zone. However, in real conditions on the road, not always, unfortunately, you can quickly realize what is in front of you.

Difficulties are caused by the yard territory. After all, there are sidewalks on it, but there are no road signs. It is similar to the adjacent, but is not it. The rules of movement for this zone are spelled out separately in the general code of traffic rules. Prohibitions in the yard are the same as those on the adjoining. One of the differences is that the pedestrian on the first has the right to move both along the sidewalk and along the carriageway. But this does not mean that they can with impunity prevent the passage of vehicles.

Movement on the adjacent territory

The rules of travel on this site are mostly reduced to prohibitions. Only by observing them, you can make traffic on the adjacent territory. SDA is prohibited in such a section:

  • Move on a vehicle at a speed of more than twenty kilometers per hour;
  • Conduct driving instruction;
  • Leave the vehicle with the engine on for more than five minutes;
  • To leave lorries with a total mass exceeding three and a half tons.

Plus, do not park for cars on lawns. Not only is this a lack of culture, it is also persecuted by law.

Speaking of parking, it is worth noting that the so-called parking pocket, which is located ten meters from the apartment house, also falls under the definition of "adjacent territory".

The driver of the vehicle, moving around this area, must give way to all pedestrians. That you do not overtake punishment, it is necessary to carry out this point of traffic rules. The adjacent area has no advantages over the roadway.

Departure

Implementation of this maneuver is carried out according to one rule. Skip all participants of the movement, and then make a departure from the adjacent territory. Traffic regulations indicate that in addition to cars moving from left to right, pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles moving from right to left must give way.

SDA: U-turn from the adjacent territory

It is not always possible to implement the desired maneuvers, and the reason for this is a narrow carriageway or parked vehicles. Here, the surrounding area is nearby. Here you can make a U-turn. Naturally, this should be done in accordance with the rules, and do not become a hindrance to other vehicles that are moving along the carriageway.

The adjacent territory can be either on the right or on the left. The technique of reversal in connection with its location varies.

  • The adjoining territory is located on the right. Drive a little ahead. Stop. Skip the cars, if there are any, then back up, without interfering, enter it. With this movement, you have the opportunity to correctly assess the situation on the main road. Once in the adjacent territory, turn on the left turn and in the lane of the car flow, exit from it according to traffic rules.
  • The adjacent territory is located on the left. This maneuver is a little more complicated than the previous one. Turn on the turn signal. The vehicle must be in the far left. If necessary, skip the oncoming cars. Then you drive in on the adjacent territory. Try to drive as close to the right side as possible. After your vehicle has completely moved off the main road, stop. Now, carefully, without interfering, you leave behind from the adjacent territory.

Parking area

The parking and stopping of vehicles in the adjoining territory is carried out in the same way as in the rest of the carriageway. According to signs and markings, parking is carried out in the adjacent territory. SDA for parking and stopping a car does not depend on the belonging of road sections to this or that category. The same can be said about the penalties for improper parking.

Penalties for violation of traffic rules in the adjacent territory

Travel on these sites is carried out in accordance with the Rules of the road. And as they are, it means that there are punishments for their violation.

So, parking lots and gas stations, or rather, their entrances and exits, are marked by road signs. Therefore, if the vehicle traveled in the opposite direction, it is regarded as driving on the opposite lane. For this misdemeanor, the driver may lose the ability to drive for six months or will have to pay a fine of five thousand rubles.

Sometimes a prohibition sign is placed on the intersection of the adjacent territory and the roadway. It refers to the road. Failure to comply with the rules will result in a fine of five hundred rubles.

In the adjoining territory, the prohibition of through passage is most often violated. For this misdemeanor, the driver will be punished in the form of a fine of one and a half thousand rubles.

Other violations in the adjacent area are fraught with the same consequences as non-compliance with traffic rules in other parts of the road: exceeding permissible speed, driving in a drunken state and so on.

In the parking lot, you can be fined if you took a place for the disabled. In the case when the vehicle of a person with disabilities is not marked with a special sticker, it will also be punished.

Recommendations

The pedestrian on this site is always right, so say the SDA. The adjacent territory is a special zone, drivers are simply obligated on this site to give way to citizens.

When traveling from an adjacent area, you should stop your vehicle in close proximity to the main road - this will allow the driver to see traffic in both directions.

When reversing from the adjacent territory on the left, it is very important to correctly assess the situation. So, you initially need to enter it on the front, but, say, there is a pedestrian. As a result, you stop in order to miss it, and the car is located across the counter strip. Thus, you interfere with the movement of other vehicles. Therefore, before you turn to the adjacent territory, look, whether there are any approaching pedestrians, cars or animals.
