What is food in hotels

Food in the hotels has a different classification. In its description, special abbreviations are used that indicate the proposed level of service. For example, the most commonly used options are BB, FB, HB, AL, but others are possible. You should know that even with the same principles of its organization, the set of dishes in a five-star hotel and a three-star hotel will differ significantly.

So, for example, food in hotels, the transcription of which in Russian means "bed and breakfast" (BB- Bed and Breakfast) is as follows: apart from accommodation, you are offered only breakfast. If you want extra food, then this service can be provided for a fee in the restaurants of hotels, as well as in other restaurants of the resort. Decoding of food in hotels of the type CB (continental breakfast), translated into Russian as a "continental breakfast", assumes an inexpensive light breakfast, which includes a cup of coffee or tea, buns, as well as jam and butter. Also, probably for breakfast you will be served thin slices of cheese or sausage.

If you are offered Buffet Breakfast, or, as we call it, a buffet with another popular name - buffet, then for breakfast you will be offered several types of salads, pastries, dishes from eggs. And in hotels of high categories for breakfast can be served even hot dishes. The main thing to remember is that in almost all resort hotels, the cost of living includes the provision of breakfast, so you can not refuse it. Nutrition for this type is often provided on sightseeing tours or business trips, sometimes even at ski resorts.

There is food in hotels of class HB (Half Board), called half board. This option includes dinner and breakfast, but without lunch. In this case, breakfast will be provided in the form of a "buffet", and dinner - a "buffet" or a salad bar, which will include hot meals at your choice from the provided menu. Often drinks are included in the price of accommodation, but sometimes they can be paid separately. The quality of the food served and its choice can be different in hotels of different types.
Still there is a full board, denoted by the letters FB (respectively - Full Board). According to this option, you will be offered a full meal in the hotels three times a day. Breakfast, as usual, will be served in the form of a "buffet". A dinner with lunch can be served as a "buffet" or with a choice of dishes from the menu. Sometimes drinks can be included in this price, in some cases the fee for them is charged separately. Most often, half-board is chosen by tourists, since you can have dinner at any restaurants, and there will be no need to return to the hotel in the middle of the day.

There is also such a variant of power supply as AL (All Inclusive) - "all inclusive", and also UAL (Ultra All Inclusive) - ultra "all inclusive". In this case, you will be offered a full meal, services of various cafes and bars, which can provide light snacks throughout the day. Often in the menu there are non-alcoholic, but sometimes alcoholic drinks of the local producer.

Of course, there are other types of food in hotels. But these are the most popular among tourists.
