What is a laser keyboard?

All chances to become the next milestone in this direction, have laser keyboards. The first mention of them in the press began to appear about a year ago. One of the first Russified models in our markets was the laser keyboard from I.Tech. On its example, you can consider the general features of such devices, as well as the functions that distinguish it among other models.

The case of a rectangular shape has dimensions of 9 cm in height and about 3.5 in width. For work, it is installed vertically, as a kind of "turret". From its front side are two lasers: a touch and a projection. And from the top you can see a small indicator that is able to display several colors and thus show the mode of the keyboard.

Also, the device has a built-in battery, which is charged from the adapter. On the left is the corresponding connector and the power button. On the right there is a hidden button, whose purpose is to reset the settings if the keyboard suddenly starts to "buggy". The laser will pass through the glass top and will reflect from the glossy coating, which makes the projection inaccurate. But the color is not of fundamental importance, although the developers recommend monophonic coatings, because it is difficult to see the projection on the bright and colorful owners. The direct sunlight will also have a detrimental effect on the brightness of the image, but conventional artificial lighting will not hurt anything.

This keyboard works as a standalone Bluetooth device. All major system events are accompanied by audio signals and a flashing light indicator at the top. The keyboard is universal and supports connection to a wide range of devices, from PDAs to modern laptops. The process of connecting it is surprisingly simple, although some moments will require familiarization with the instruction on the attached disc.
