What hides your favorite hamburger?

What do we think about McDonald's? Good food at great prices? At least, we would like it to be so. There is no doubt that McDonald's has done a good job of creating food at an affordable price. Not surprisingly, many people who are constrained in money choose family food in McDonald's, which includes several burgers, french fries, nuggets and drinks, because they could afford only some organic vegetables for the same price. Of course, many people are sarcastic about food in McDonald's. And all because not once experts have proved how much this food is of poor quality. In addition, common sense suggests that it is better not to eat this food every day, or even to give it up altogether.

We want to consider the food in McDonald's using the most popular of their dishes - the hamburger. You will be sure that you will hardly ever want to regale it again.

According to the company's own website, this is a list of ingredients that are part of the hamburger.

The composition of the loaf

So, the roll, which is the basis of the hamburger, is made from enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin and folic acid), water, high fructose corn syrup or sugar, yeast, soybean Oil. In addition, it contains less than 2% salt, wheat gluten, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, dough conditioner, sorbic acid (preservative), calcium propionate and soya lecithin.

Side effects

We present you a list of harmful substances, as well as side effects that may be caused by the ingredients contained in such a bun.

  1. Ammonium sulphate is a chemical by-product of the production of synthetic fibers and the production of steel. Before the price increase in 2004, it was the most common source of nitrogen in lawn fertilizers.
  2. Bleached flour. A by-product of the process of bleaching flour is alloxane. This process is used to make it look clean and white. Of course, technically no one adds alloxane to flour, although this has been repeatedly written on all sorts of forums. But the grain undergoes chemical treatment, which leads to the formation of alloxane in flour. It appears in the process of decomposition of uric acid. It is a poison that is used to cause diabetes in healthy experimental animals. Researchers can then study the methods of their treatment in the laboratory. Alloxan is capable of causing diabetes, as it "untwists" free radicals in pancreatic beta cells, thereby destroying them.
  3. Corn syrup contains pollutants , including mercury, the level of which no one checks.
  4. Stearoyl-2 sodium lactylate. The side effect of food intolerance is possible.
  5. Azodicarbonamide is used as an additive in the food industry and as a bleaching agent for flour. It actually affects the dough so that when it is on large bakeries under pressure, it still retains a good appearance. It is known that azodicarbonamide causes allergic reactions in people who are sensitive to other nitrogen compounds, for example food colors. The consumption of azodicarbonamide can increase allergic reactions to other ingredients in the food. Interestingly, this component is also used as an additive in the production of foams. In the UK, this component was defined as a respiratory sensitizer (a possible cause of asthma). According to English law, on products with its content there should be an inscription: "May cause hypersensitivity by inhalation".
  6. Sorbic acid. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, this chemical is a strong irritant, and in large quantities can lead to serious damage to the tissues of the eyes, skin and respiratory tract.

Cheese

The cheese used for hamburgers includes milk, cream, water, cheese cultures, sodium citrate, salt, citric acid, sodium phosphate, sorbic, lactic and acetic acids, sodium pyrophosphate, natural flavoring and soy lecithin.

Ketchup

And what is contained in ketchup, which is added to this popular dish? There is a tomato concentrate, distilled vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, water, salt and natural flavors.

Cucumber slices

The traditional hamburger recipe also includes slices of salted cucumber. But how is it prepared? This requires cucumbers, water, distilled vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, alum, natural flavors, polysorbate and turmeric extract.

Beef

What pleases us is that in the original recipe, beef is served without any fillers or dilators. It is cooked on the grill with salt and black pepper.
