In 1909, Stalin's first wife, Ekaterina Svanidze, died. This death was a great loss to him. Whether the Soviet dictator liked the eldest son, it is difficult to say. The whole country admired the courage of Stalin, who refused to save Lieutenant Dzhugashvili, who had been taken prisoner by Vitebsk, and who practically condemned him to death. On the other hand, all the years after the death of his son, the head of the world communist movement wore a black T-shirt under his tunic as a sign of mourning, hidden as much in his life.

Stalin's second wife, Nadezhda Sergeevna Alliluyeva, was fifteen years younger than her husband. The daughter of a professional revolutionary, she was captivated by the image of a romantic fighter who returned from exile after the February revolution. She was only sixteen then, and thirty-eight to the future General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b).

An active life position, inexperience, naivety and a penchant for revolutionary romanticism irritated her husband, aspiring to power and power.

Her personal modesty reached the extreme - many colleagues and leaders of organizations in which Nadezhda Alliluyeva worked did not even know that she was Stalin's wife. She was even wanted to be expelled from the party in 1921, accusing him of passivity and anarcho-syndicalism (at that time it was possible to hang all kinds of "isms" on a man), but her husband intervened. And Nadyusha worked somewhere, but in the secretariat of Lenin, Pravda and the editorial board of Revolution and Culture, and she also studied at the Promakademia. There, neither teachers nor students knew that Stalin's wife was next to them.

They had two children, Vasily's son in 1921, and Svetlana's daughter in 1926. It is known about the life of the second family of Joseph Vissarionovich much more than about the first. This became possible thanks to the book "Twenty letters to a friend", published in 1967 in the West. The daughter of the Kremlin dictator has revealed many secrets and described her life in detail.

Stalin's second wife committed suicide under mysterious circumstances after the banquet at the Voroshilovs on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the October Revolution. At the table, my husband behaved rudely, and, perhaps, it provoked suicide. There were several versions of the events that occurred, from Nadezhda Alliluyeva's involvement in the anti-government plot, to the constant painful migraines, but the truth is no longer to be recognized.

On the grave of Stalin's wife a monument was erected, very beautiful and expressive. In addition to the name, surname and dates on it, the party affiliation is indicated: "member of the CPSU (b)".
