Types of coffee

There are about seventy kinds of coffee trees all over the world, but the main among them are the following: Arabica and Robusta, which gave the name to the main types of coffee.

Drinks of the Arabica variety are obtained from the grains of trees growing in the highlands. Grain - with a smooth surface and an elongated shape. A variety of robusta coffee is grown on tropical plantations of India, Indonesia and Africa. The grain is roundish and greyish-green or light-brown in color. Such types of coffee, as excelsa and liberica - are less well-known and are not grown on an industrial scale. They are characterized by a rather low yield, "capriciousness" and lack of demand. However, some of them are considered very expensive, as, for example, the African variety of lupac, whose cup is worth several hundred dollars. Its cost is explained by the fact that the beverage is prepared after the grain has gone through the whole food chain, including the gastrointestinal tract of a small mussang animal. Coffee experts say that only after that you can get a drink with an unusual taste and aroma.

These types of coffee can be mixed or used individually. Most drinkers prefer arabica with a softer flavor and less strong, it takes the dominant position in the market.
