What are the spores of fungi in contrast to the bacteria spores?

The kingdoms of bacteria and fungi have common features. In particular, their representatives are arguing. However, there are obvious differences here. Let's find out what is the difference between mushroom spores and bacterial spores. The difference will be considered later.

About mushrooms

Mushrooms are lower organisms. They are a kind of transitional link from plants to animals. Representatives of this kingdom are both microscopic single - celled fungi, and real giants, for example, huge turtles, the colonies of which permeate tree trunks.

Spores of fungi, unlike spores of bacteria, do not contain chlorophyll. Such organisms are heterotrophic. In other words, the maintenance of vital activity in fungi is due to the processing of inorganic and organic substances.

The body of fungi is represented by a mycelium, which consists of a set of the finest threads of tissue. Organisms of this category are able to develop not only on soil, but also in water. Some fungi are parasitic on plants, animals and their remains. To develop spores of fungi, several conditions are required: the presence of heat and moisture.

What is a bacterium?

Before considering the difference between spores of a fungus and a spore of a bacterium, it is worthwhile to say a few words about what organisms are, which belong to the kingdom of bacteria. Their most ancient representatives exist on the planet for about 2 billion years. To date, scientists have registered 2500 separate species of bacteria.

Organisms of this category are characterized by a wide range of habitats. There are bacteria everywhere: in water, soil, air, cells and tissues, as well as bodily fluids of living organisms. Some representatives of this kingdom are able to maintain vital activity in the thickness of the earth and water at a depth of several kilometers, survive in extreme temperature conditions.

Bacteria are microscopic organisms. They all consist of one cell or their chains. However, despite the cellular structure, the bacteria do not contain a nucleus, the division of which in the structure of the tissues of animals leads to the growth of the bodies of individuals.

Spores of mushrooms

Mushroom sporoid bodies perform exclusively the function of reproduction. They tend to change their form during the life cycle. This ability is known by the definition of "pleomorphism". This is manifested in the presence in the fungi of several types of spores, which differ in the manner of division.

Spores of fungi, in contrast to the spores of bacteria, are formed in different places:

  • Fungi, which multiply with the formation of mycelium, produce chlamydospores and arthrospores;
  • Inside sporangia, which are formed by the lower representatives of the kingdom of fungi, sporangiospores are produced;
  • In higher fungi spores are formed on the surface of tubular and lamellar bodies.

Spores of bacteria

What is the difference between the fungus's controversy and the spores of the bacteria? As mentioned above, spores are produced for propagation purposes by mushrooms. In the case of a bacterium, it is rather a transformation of a living cell, which allows it to survive in adverse conditions. As the results of scientific research show, individual bacterial spores are able to withstand the temperature, atmospheric, chemical and mechanical stresses that are catastrophic for cells of animals, plants and the same fungi. This is the defining difference between spores of fungus and spores of bacteria.

It is worth noting that not all representatives of the kingdom of bacteria have the ability to transform into defensive disputes. Possibility is only for rod-shaped forms of this category of organisms. Bacteria of this type are widely known as "bacilli".

Spores of rod-shaped microorganisms are formed during the day. Activation of the process occurs in response to the emergence of conditions unsuitable for existence and active living. This method of protection from environmental factors is extremely effective. In the form of a dispute, bacilli can exist in an inactive form for several decades. The protective shells of bacterial spores become immune to the absence of moisture. They withstand various types of radiation, including radiation.

Finally

Finally I would like to sum up all of the above. What is the difference between the organisms represented?

Spores of fungi, in contrast to bacteria spores, are intended for the performance of reproductive function. In the case of bacilli, the formation of spores is a forced measure aimed at the survival of the species.

Spores of fungi, in contrast to bacteria spores, are only minor, not a determining part of the body. On the contrary, the bacterial spore actually acts as the bacillus body, which acquires a protective shell.

There are also quantitative differences. So, one representative of the kingdom of mushrooms is able to reproduce millions of spores in order to increase the probability of successful breeding. Only one dispute is produced in bacilli.
