Vyborg highway: history and modernity

The appearance of the road to Vyborg occurred before the foundation of St. Petersburg. It originated on the Birch Island. Then her way lay through the Great Nevka. It took place in the area of the present Grenadier Bridge, and then the road ran along the mainland towards the north. Its first name was the modern Vyborg highway received in 1742. Then it sounded like the Vyborg road (or the Big Vyborg road). Its beginning was considered Sampsonievsky Cathedral. Approximately from the middle of the 18th century it was also called Pargolovskaya. It was connected with the most famous settlement at that time, through which this road was built.

During the Nicholas times throughout Russia works were carried out related to the improvement and repair of old roads. In the lexicon appeared a new French word "highway", which was applied to all highways. So, in 1832 the Vyborg road acquired a new sound - the Vyborg highway. At that time, another option was considered using the word "tract", but it did not take root in Russia.

A year later the boundary of the city was determined along the northern edge of the site belonging to the Forest Institute (now Novosiltsevsky Lane is located here). This led to a change in the location of the border separating the Vyborg highway and Sampsonievsky avenue. In 1917, the city expanded considerably, its border moved considerably towards Poklonnaya Hill. Part of the Vyborg highway was included in the city. This site was renamed into Engels Avenue. Due to the fact that this avenue was later extended to the north, another section was separated from the Vyborg highway, starting from Poklonnogorskaya Street and ending with Siqueiros Street, and added to the Engels Avenue.

The modern Vyborg highway is a high-speed highway, the beginning of which runs from the Engels Avenue, namely from Siqueiros Street. Further it passes through Ozerki, Shuvalovo, Pogorelovo and Aspen Grove. Outside the city, the Vyborg highway passes through Simagino and up to a concrete road with the A120 mark, which connects Priozerskoe and Primorskoe Highways. This site is distinguished by the fact that there is no such intensive traffic as on other sites, due to the fact that the main transport flow to Vyborg is on the Scandinavia highway. Highways outside the city are often called the Eastern Vyborg Highway. The places lying along it are very popular with tourists.

Particularly popular is the Vyborgskoye Highway 27. Here, from the SK "Stroykomplekt", a residential complex has been commissioned, offering housing for the contemporaries with increased comfort. Brick new buildings rise in a well-developed area, which has a developed infrastructure. In the immediate vicinity of the facility are the largest supermarkets. Nearby is the resort area. The apartments have a view of the Shuvalovsky forest park or the picturesque Suzdal lakes.

The residential complex has a number of multi-storey buildings, where there are apartments of different layouts and squares.
