Vyatka State Agricultural Academy: features of training, passing grade, branches

History of the educational institution

The Agricultural Academy is one of the oldest and largest educational institutions in Kirov and the Kirov region. It originated in 1901 in the form of an agricultural technical school. It was engaged in the preparation of surveyors, agronomists and other specialists who needed agriculture.

In 1930, the college became an institution, that is, it was transformed into a higher educational institution. That is why the staff of the now existing academy say that the date of its foundation is 1930. The Institute, which grew out of the school, produced veterinarians and livestock specialists, because he had only 2 faculties. During the Great Patriotic War a new faculty was opened, related to agronomy. In the following years, too, active changes were carried out, but the most important of them was carried out in 1995. The Institute received the status of an academy.

Training of specialists in the university

The modern Vyatka State Agricultural Academy produces agronomists, biologists, veterinarians, engineers and economists with higher education. The university prepares the listed specialists for 5 available faculties. At the same time, it is worth noting that at the economics faculty there is an additional training of middle-level personnel. For entrants, there are open and popular specialties - "Bukh. Accounting and Economics, Banking, Expertise in the Quality of Consumer Goods and Commodity Research, Insurance Business, Commerce, and Finance.

Specialists are trained by qualified staff. It was formed by the Vyatka State Agricultural Academy (Kirov) for many decades. Teachers, who have been working in the university for many years, pass on to the students a wealth of experience and necessary knowledge. In the team there are also young specialists who are single-minded and act as examples for young people.

Academic field of the Academy

Out of inexperienced students entering the agricultural academy, qualified specialists grow due to the fact that the university not only provides theoretical knowledge, but also organizes practices that are very important in the educational process. Vyatka State Agricultural Academy (Kirov) has an educational and experimental field, which is periodically visited by teachers and students.

On the training and experimental field, students carry out the necessary work and research in a warm period (approximately from April to October). Students learn useful information for themselves on soil science, plant growing, melioration, seed farming and other disciplines. In the cold season, when the snow is on the training and experimental field, the students receive knowledge necessary in practical activity, in another place - in the warehouses of the training and experimental field. Here they study the storage of grain, seeds, potatoes.

Laboratory of Horse Breeding

The training field is not the only place where students get their first skills. Practical exercises are still conducted in the laboratory of horse breeding. Vyatka State Agricultural Academy established it in 2003. On the territory of the laboratory live horses of the Hanoverian breed.

Students of veterinary and biological faculties come to the laboratory of horse breeding. They study here to breed animals, master the principles of their keeping and feeding, and study diseases. In the laboratory, not only educational activities are realized, but also scientific. Employees of the university and students develop biologically active additives, are looking for new methods of diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases.

Several years ago there was a Yaransk, Kotelnich and Komi branches of the Vyatka State Agricultural Academy. Each of them lasted about 10 years. In 2013, the university decided to liquidate all branches. The relevant documents were sent to the Ministry of Agriculture. As a result, all branches were closed. The Academy currently operates only in Kirov.
