"Vertical limit": to the madness of the brave we sing glory

The tragic beginning of the film "The Vertical Limit" sets the tone for the entire narrative. After that, the storyline, bypassing several decades, again confronts the viewer with the protagonists of Annie and Peter. They, who have grown up, can not recover from the child's psychological trauma. The main heroine in the group of climbers is going to conquer the ill-fated peak of K2, which is almost inferior to Everest in height. This peak is deservedly considered one of the most dangerous in the world, but the millionaire sponsoring the expedition is guided only by its mercantile considerations. This is his second attempt, the first one ended tragically, in the team of climbers there were practically no survivors, and the peak remained unbroken. Naturally, this group in the process of recovery is expected by insidious vicissitudes of fate, because of what they become buried alive in a small crevice almost at the top of the mountain, in the zone of death. So climbers call the vertical limit, the height after 8000 meters, where due to oxygen starvation during a long stay, there is a gradual edema of the lungs and brain. And at this altitude, a person can expect only 10% of their physical abilities. After the news, Peter is sent to help his sister and five desperate brave souls who decide to climb to the same height with explosives and free the affected mountaineers from the ice. The main characters have to survive a grand adventure, full of deadly dangers, fighting the rebellious elements.

Better mountains can only be mountains

After watching the movie "Vertical limit", the trailer of which is not able to fully convey the scale of the tragedy, you begin to perceive climbing differently. That's where the famous song of V.Vysotsky is remembered. The remarkableness of this picture can also be called identical first and last scenes in which one of the heroes goes on to voluntary death, self-sacrifice for the sake of saving his family-team. Impressive picture, bubbling with adrenaline, with a great story. "Vertical limit" can be called the standard of adventure cinematography dedicated to mountaineering.
