Use your phone as a modem to connect to the Internet

You can connect to the Internet in various ways, including using your phone as a modem. It is necessary for the phone to support GPRS and EDGI data transfer technologies. Thanks to the functionality of modern mobile phones, you can do it today easily with the help of any device not older than five years.

Before you connect the Internet through a mobile phone, you need to choose a mobile operator and the most favorable and convenient tariff. As for the three operators, they all provide Internet services of approximately the same quality and speed. The cost of 1 megabit is quite high for everyone, but for unlimited tariffs with a moderate subscription fee too low speed. Therefore, tariffs need to be studied and selected individually. Each operator offers mobile Internet for a laptop at special more favorable rates.

It does not matter which operator and tariff will be chosen, the main thing is that at the time of connection on the SIM card the phone had enough money to travel through the network.

You can connect to the Internet via a cellular phone using Bluetooth wireless technology or through a cable that is sold with the phone. When the phone starts asking for permission to connect to the computer, you need to click "Yes". After the Master finds the phone, the "Devices and printers" window should open. Right-click on the phone icon and select "Dial-up connection" from the list, then "Create connection". In the window that appears, select any modem, then enter the phone number that you can find on the Internet or at your mobile operator. The next required field to fill is "Connection Name", where you can write any word. The fields "User name", "Password" in this case are not filled. Then click the "Connect" button. A connection will be created. The phone can ask permission to connect again - you need to answer "Yes". Then the wizard can give an error message, which happens if the modem was previously connected. It is required to select another modem and repeat all the necessary actions. Now the connection is created, you can open the browser.

The next time you connect through the phone, you need to act through the "Network connections" in the lower right corner of the desktop next to the date and clock.

The disadvantage of this connection is a sufficiently high price, low speed and instability of the connection. For lack of other options for Internet communication, using the phone as a modem is a fully justifiable action that makes it possible to view web pages.
