Trichopol and alcohol

"Trichopol" is widely used today as a medicinal antibacterial drug. To treat intestinal infections, giardiasis, gingivitis, trichomoniasis, trichopolis is used. Description of the drug contains a list of its pharmacological properties. The restored nitro group of metronidazole (trichopole) interacting with the DNA of the causative agent cell of the infection, inhibits their synthetic activity and leads to the death of the microorganism. In recent years, this drug has proven itself in the treatment of alcoholism.

What is the basis for the use of the drug Trichopol? "Trichopol" and alcohol when interacting with each other lead to the development of an allergic reaction. Running the mechanism of blocking the enzymatic system responsible for the destruction of substances, leads to the fact that the body accumulates the products of alcohol destruction. These substances can cause pain in the abdominal region, nausea, vomiting and redness of the skin. The reaction that develops when alcohol is used is called disulfiram-ethanol. The blocking of the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase of the human body leads to the formation and accumulation of intermediate (incomplete) decomposition product of ethanol - acetic aldehyde. Being a poison for a person, the latter leads to the development of acute intoxication.

The drug "Trichopol" and alcohol cause an increase in blood levels of acetaldehyde, which is the initiator of pain and other sensations. The use of this drug also causes an increase in heart rate and a decrease in the level of blood pressure. Psychological fixation of alcohol intolerance is assimilated to patients, which in the future prevents its use. The rapidly evolving reaction continues for a long time. Manifestations of intoxication are eliminated within eight to twelve hours. Duration of complete elimination of the drug from the body is two days.

Assigning the drug "Trichopol" for the purpose of treating trichomoniasis, the doctor necessarily warns the patient about the consequences of using the combination "trichopol and alcohol", since the consequences of developing allergic reaction are often unpredictable.

Developing allergic reaction can manifest as edema Quincke, profuse rashes on the skin, dyspepsia, diarrhea, dryness in the mouth and metal taste.

Trichopol and alcohol, when used together, can cause severe headache and blurred consciousness in patients with neurological disorders.

In order to ensure the safe use of the drug, the drug is prescribed by a doctor. Before using a pharmaceutical, it is strongly recommended that you study the instructions for describing the properties and characteristics of the drug.

To treat peptic ulcer, the drug "Trichopol" is also used. Indications for use include amebic liver damage, as well as pathology of pelvic organs.

Thus, the use of "Trichopol" today is very common, both as an antibacterial drug (for the treatment and prevention of infectious pathology), and as a means to form a conditioned reflex connection, to eliminate addiction to alcohol. However, at the present time, many microorganisms have developed resistance to this antibacterial agent, so its effectiveness in this regard has significantly decreased. The purpose of this drug is justified in a number of cases in the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to tricholum, for example, in peptic ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.
