Treatment of dermatitis

Recently, people are increasingly complaining about the appearance of various kinds of dermatitis, which arise for a number of reasons. By and large, almost all inflammatory reactions of the skin to the effect of various stimuli are related to them. Treatment of dermatitis begins only after the cause of the disease is accurately established.

Dermatitis is divided into contact and toxicermy. Contact occurs due to the influence of external factors on the skin. And with toxemia, these factors first penetrate the body, and then manifest themselves on the skin. Effective treatment of dermatitis is impossible without revealing its etiology and pathogenesis. All the irritants that cause this disease have a chemical, biological or physical nature. The simplest treatment is dermatitis, caused by physical irritation of the skin. This pressure, friction, temperature and radiation effects, the action of alkalis and acids. Often irritation is caused by plants, such as spurge, caustic buttercup, nettle, ash, cow and others.

So-called "facultative" stimuli can cause inflammation of the skin only in those people who have increased sensitivity. They cause allergic dermatitis. Most often, this disease is caused by the following substances: formalin, turpentine, medicines, polymers, washing powders, perfumes, cosmetics, insecticides, salts of nickel, cobalt, chromium. Plants such as aloe, tobacco, snowdrop, garlic, geranium, primrose, also cause this disease.

The pathogenesis of ordinary dermatitis is reduced only to damage to skin tissue, so its manifestations are determined by the concentration (strength), nature and duration of the stimulus. In this case, the skin lesion appears immediately after contact with the external stimulus, and its area coincides with the contact area.

Sensitizers that cause allergic dermatitis, connecting with proteins of skin tissues, form conjugates that have the properties of allergens. Under their influence, the production of lymphocytes is stimulated, which causes the development of dermatitis, which is an allergic reaction of a delayed type. A large role in the sensitizing mechanism is played by the individual properties of the organism, namely, the state of the nervous system, genetic predisposition, skin condition, concomitant and transmitted diseases, the functions of the sweat and sebaceous glands. Monovalent sensitization determines the features of the course of such dermatitis: the presence of a latent period, the intensity of the inflammatory skin reaction, the concentration of the stimulus and the duration of its effect, the area of the lesion.

Treatment of dermatitis begins with the definition of the clinical picture of the disease. Simple dermatitis occurs in acute or chronic form. The acute form has 3 stages: erythematous (swelling and hyperemia), vesicular (formation of vesicles, crusts and erosions), necrotic (tissue disintegration and subsequent scarring). The acute form is accompanied by severe itching, pain, and burning. The chronic form, caused by prolonged exposure to stimuli, is characterized by congestive hyperemia, lichenification, infiltration, the appearance of cracks, increased cornification, skin atrophy.

Diagnosis of dermatitis is carried out with the help of the following examinations: general analysis of urine and blood, immunogram, analysis of feces for eggs of worms, fluorography, proteinogram of serum. On their basis, a complex treatment is prescribed, which includes: diets; Hyposensitizing, sedative, antihistamines; Elimination of allergen; Sanation of the affected area; Therapy of concomitant diseases; Corticosteroids; Vitamins C, B; Nicotinic acid; Adaptogens; Immunomodulating therapy.

Treatment of contact dermatitis begins with the definition of the stimulus and the termination of contact with it. Therapy usually includes hydrocortisone ointments, other steroid ointments, the use of moist and cool compresses on the lesions.

Treatment of dermatitis on the face can begin only after determining the cause of the disease. This kind of dermatitis begins to be treated after elimination of irritating factors (cosmetics, fluoridated toothpaste, toning agents, intense insolation, exposure to meteorological conditions). A complex examination of the patient is carried out, treatment of concomitant pathologies of the endocrine and digestive systems is carried out. Careful skin care is required. Depending on the reason, drugs with azelaic acid, "Clindamycin", "Metronidazole" drugs are used. Good help and cool lotions with solutions of tannin and boric acid. Excellent and sulfur-containing drugs have also proven themselves.
